View Full Version : Cardinals
Who is the biggest threat to the Cards in the NL?
Come playoff time it has got to be the Astros. Petite, Oswalt and Clemons are deadly. No other NL team can compete with that. Braves are always tough, but I am not to afraid of them for some reason. I am sure that all will change if I have to see Chumper Jones take the plate. He will probably have 4 homeruns and 18 rbi's just to spite me. Anyway I hope there is another Wildcard team other than the Astros. NL west is a complete joke.

I agree JVO, Houston probably is the biggest threat.
Poor sucky NL West!
Isn't that where every team but San Diego is playing less than .500? I think.

houston...those choke artists...the NL is chock full of clowns....ass clowns at that. atlanta...never really a threat. chumper is a big punk but not good enuf. their team will wilt to ours. houston...good pitching, but they're hitting is getting very very old and the Rocket is due to have a stroke soon so...Finally...the NL West...who cares!
Cardinals in the World Series or may the good lord strike me down where i stand. As for their opponent...I actually like the Angels. Prediction on that...Cardinals in 6.

The Marlins are 2 games out of the wild card right now. I'm pretty sure they can beat out Washington, the Phillies, and Astros for that spot. Cubs fans remember what happened the last time they got the wildcard spot

yeah...its true...the marlins...we do all remember what happened to the Cubs...it just took until later in the season than normal that year. psyche...prepares for beer bottles to be thrown.
Evil : I agree that the Marlins can do it, if they put their minds to it. However, they are severely injured currently & unlikely to recover in time to make the playoffs (unfortunately). If they do, look out.

miami fans stink.
i just watched a game that had as many cardinal fans as marlins fans.
seems like reggie will never come back.
walker looks good.
molina is better than ever
It totally blew my mind to see Molina batting in the 4 hole for those few games. Did a good job though. I suspect that Yadier might be the slowest professional athelete in any major pro sport. Can anyone think of anybody who is slower?

I wanted to post a picture of the big, fat, slow bastard (all of which I mean lovingly), but I couldn't find a picture of him in a Cards uniform.
Was it 1985 when we got Horner? I can't remember.
Horner became a Card on 1/4/88. Acquired from the Braves. Over a ten year career he had a grand total of 14 Stolen bases. He was caught stealing 18 times.

Oh yeahhh...because he was meant to be a Jack Clark replacement, right?
Jack Clark was recently the general manager for the sad, sad semi-pro baseball team in Columbia. He lasted about half a season.
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
