View Full Version : President Hillary: The Bitch is Back

Hillary Clinton (that's "Miss Clinton," if you're nasty) has been steadily positioning herself for a stab at presidency. While she continues to deny that she will run in 2008, she has backed off a lot on abortion, been seen parading about with various do-gooders in a slew of public appearances, and has been having regular meetings with Dem fundraisers.

What do you think? Is it Hillary's time to whip it out? Or is this all a ploy to fake out the Reps? You know, get them to prepare against an all-out Hillary-fest and then psyche them out with a different nominee? That seems a little spicy for the Dems, but with the Clinton's running the show, who knows what the hell is going to happen....

On a side note, has Hillary finished menopause yet? Would a woman in the furious grip of menopause be what America needs right now? I just remember the time I found my mom standing in the kitchen with her head in the freezer, and when I asked what the hell she was doing she looked at me and I lost all feeling in the left side of my body. Her eyes were dead. Then she said, authoritatively, "GO AWAY." Anyone who knows my mom can imagine how fast I left the house that day!

I hope the Dems are just trying to fake out the Republicans, because I don't think she can win yet.

I would suggest trying in 2012 or 2016. She's a smart lady, but she needs to be perceived as having more experience than one senate term.

I like her, though.

Menopause...not opening that can of worms today. ;)

i truly don't understand people's hatred of hillary. i mean, she's no saint, but her record doesn't seem much different than her husband's. neither of them are even close to liberal enough for my tastes, but i think they're both very smart people who more-or-less want to do good for their country.

i think she could win. and she for damn sure couldn't be any worse than g.w., even if she were menopausal 24/7.

still, i harbor deep hopes of an obama presidential campaign, though i doubt that will happen for a number of years. the democrats better get their shit together, or we'll end up with a fucking frist/rove victory.

i could well end up voting mccain in the next presidential campaign, and the thought of voting republican turns my stomach. maybe i should register republican to steer the primaries next go-around.

I don't think the democrats could win a pres. election if they ran freakin' Dale Earnhart...

It's not about democrats getting their shit together... it just turns out that they have their shit and it's remarkably the same corn-chunked diherea that republicans are pitching. It's not going to take reform, it will take a REAL liberal candidate that can rally the votes through effective grassroots development.

... anyone remember Howard Dean? If he hadn't been slandered by the media over his enthusiasm for the motivated voice of Americans, he could have easily beaten Bush. ...but then, Democrats have had enough of successful dynamic presidents.

It will be a cold day in hell when a woman is nominated by the dem.s for president (even one as manish as Hillary). There are still too many scared white patriarchal decendants of slave owners in charge to let that happen... and what about the military absentee votes? every Ted, Dick & Harry knows that no soldier in sand fatigues would take a female commander and chief seriously.

What about a clandestinly elected Janet Reno or former secretary of health and human services, Donna Shalala?
put them in a blue suit with a red "power" tie and noone would suspect they got a 'giner...

Just as a side note. Donna Shalala is the president at the University of Miami where I work. If anyone wonders where are they now?

I agree with DV about Ms. Clinton (I am nasty!). The first woman to be elected President will be a Republican. So will the first African American. It is the only way it is going to happen. If we look at many of the most important AA's and women they are almost all a result of Republicans (Sec Rice, Sec Powell, Justice O'Connor, etc.) If you are a democratic AA or woman the Reps will destroy you, if you are Rep AA or woman they will have to vote for you because they have no other choice and you will swing many people who traditionally vote Dem (single woman and minorities <I hate the word minorities>).

Also, for the record, Howard Dean did not lose because of his crazed scream. He lost because 2 months before the primaries he was the front runner and after the first primary he was in third and dropping like a rock. You can't lose ground like that and ever hope to make it up in the short primary season. Dean was killed by the incredible expectations put on him by the media (see Time and Newsweek). Because Dean was a grassroots campaign they were not in any position to compete with all of the other candidates when it came to everything that matters in an election. The reason why the scream is so ridiculus is because he came in third place. Most Heads were expecting him to get out the race (if you are a New Englander and you get your ass kicked in NH you ain't winning shit.) and instead they got this crazy guy screaming on stage. If the media tore him down it was only after they propped him up for 6 months. I don't think it is a suprise to anybody that the media is evil. By the way I thought the speech was great (and strange since he was in fact done as a candidate) and I am sure all of the supporters in the crowd were very motivated to go on and lose some more primaries.

Hopefully, Dean will have learned his lesson and if he decides to run in 08 he will have a lot more experience and understanding when it comes to winning a National Election. Dean has balls and is exactly what the Dems need to win. If he refines his act, and is able to hire some political whores to help him, I think he can win. Don't know if he will run though.

Remember in 2000 when Liz Dole was running for the Rep nomination?

She was cool. She went on Rosie and pulled a gun out of her purse with a saftey lock on it and said "CHILD SAFTEY LOCKS ON GUNS!" She was also pretty cool with us gays. She obviously wasn't going to liberalize marriage equality, but she wasn't going to push for anti-gay constitutional ammendments, either.I'da voted for'er.

Miss. Clinton, I don't know. She is hyped so much that I can't imagine she would run if she didn't have it in the bag. Another volitile variable of the 2008 equation is who will the republicans nominate? If they want to pull a wild card, why not Jane Fonda? Seriously, tho- in my opinion, if Hil is in the running, they should trump her with a female and/or minority. Powell has had his eye on the prize before and a lot of people tend to buy Condi brand Rice. But then they could just rely on the national American prejudices and run some boring white guy and split hairs on election night until they buy another supreme court decision. How about Jeb? Continue the Legacy!

One of these years, Jeb will be president. That's a guarantee.
