View Full Version : Langerado
Wow. Just got back from the festival. It was fantastic.
RJD2 - Kicked the day off with him. It was a good starting point. He is an
excellent DJ.
Spearhead - Next to him. Excellent groove & a good message.
Brazilian Girls - Possibly the best show of the day. I love their sound & they are great live. Plus the lead singer smoked a J onstage during
the song "Pussy".
The Meters - These guys really blew my mind. I knew they were good, but damn, even better live. High quality musicians.
Ben Harper - Closed out the night with BH. Always a good show, plus he has a superb backing band.
Well, time for bed so I can get up for round two tomorrow.
Viva Langerado!

The brazilian girls were fantastic. GO SEE THEM!!!! The lead singer wore a blue leotard with some sort of gray, blue tutu around her shoulders. And the rest of her body was painted. Crazy, Great show.
RJD2- Sounded Great, didn't use headphones to spin?!
Meters-still have it after 30 years.
Ben Harper-I'm glad that I had seen them at a previous show. I don't believe it was their best show. But Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals are great musicians. They played their ass off.
Whats up for today....
Secret Machines,
Robert Randolph
G-Love
Wilco
Mofro/Los Amigos Invisibles
Slightly Stoopid (heard from a fan at the show to catch this one).
Peace out! :peace:

Oo! Go see Mofro. They're awesome. I've never seen them live, tho...
Another sweet day of music & fun. I've never seen so many people openly smoking weed. Today was more of a "medley" day. I traveled around & caught bits of lots of different shows.
Los Amigos Invisibles - Latin grooves. Good starting point.
Mofro - Fun sound. Caught the second half of their show. Nice jammin' sound.
G. Love - An excellent set by him. I've seen him a few times & this set definitely ranks up there.
Robert Randolph - He probably stole the show. He has such a great sound. You just want to get up & shake your moneymaker. Plus, he brought G. Love onstage & they jammed together. Whoa yeah.
Lyrics Born/Keller Williams/Wilco - I wandered between venues because I couldn't decide who I wanted to see. They were all high quality, but finally settled into Wilco (who was even better than I expected).
Secret Machines - I was unfamiliar with them, but the comparisons to Floyd & Zeppelin peaked my interests, so we caught their show. They were very good (but its difficult to live up to those expectations)
Black Crowes - Closed out the night with them. I wasn't terribly excited about them, but they certainly exceeded my expectations.
All in all, this ranks as one of the best weekends of my life.
I could not be any happier than I am right now.
that's sounds like an awesome festival! i'm just giddy about thursday, see who's playing the massive lollapalooza in chicago this year.
i'm soooooo jealous about brazilian girls and the meters! was the weather kind? how was the venue?
Weather was fantastic (as it nearly always is down here). Partly cloudy, 80 degrees with a slight breeze both days.
The venue was solid. It was a large park in Broward County. They had 4 stages & one tent set up. The sound systems, light shows, etc. were all really well done. They have been doing this festival for the last four years, so they had a good grasp of exactly what to expect. Lots of veg friendly vendors & cool tent shops set up. SQ bought me a cool hand-made jimba(sp?). Yes!
I will definitely be going again next year, so anybody who has the winter blues & wants to come down for next year's show is more than welcome to it.

Hey OO7, if it's a hand drum, then I think it's "djembe." :rasta:
Sounds like a sweet time though!
Thanks.
'Djembe'.
I can't wait to go play it on the beach.
