I just got into these guys recently, and am really like "Bunny Gets Paid" a lot.
Looks like I missed their heyday in the mid-nineties though.

i was on the RRM tip. saw em open for yo la tengo, seam, and eleventh dream day back in the nine six son. the gorgeous pumpkins song "glynis" was written for their original bassist. bunny gets paid is good. so's jimmywine majestic. so's another album i can't remember cuz it got stolen from me. shit.
the good news is that they've morphed into califone--pretty much the same lineup, better live shows (for the most part), and at least one album that IMO is better than anything red red meat did.

I've actually been listening to RRM a lot lately, particularly this song (http://www.independent-web.com:8080/john/Music/Red%20Red%20Meat/03-Braindead.mp3) from Jimmywine Majestic.
FA's right, though: Califone's even better. Check out Quicksand/Cradlesnakes. Fucking awesome. Outside of possibly Wilco, I think they're Chicago's best band.
