last.fm/audioscrabbler

Anyone else use last.fm? Their audioscrabbler plugin basically tracks everything you listen to on your computer and posts it by frequency listened to, broken down by day, week, and overall. it's a really cool way to see what your friends are listening to.

is it only a way to track the stuff on your PC, or does it have a radio station as well? i'll sign up for this when i get home from work tonight. ...unless i forget or decide not to.

scratch that. looks like it's working now. you can even port a thing to myspace to show what you've listened to recently. pretty awesome.

well, i've been trying to keep up on the forums, and apparently the FIRST time it went down was cause they were implementing some sort of new way of processing song submissions and they were basically saying "so we're not going to fix the old stuff."


...and then the new stuff broke.

i had installed this ages ago, then quit. i just reinstalled it... i think this service is pretty damn slick. i've always wanted a method to universally rate my music (as in, not just rate it in itunes, or winamp, or my ipod, and then lose that data when i switch to a new program) and also compare my collection to others to try to find new music.

this service looks like exactly that, plus it now has a rather rich API so i could write my own software to manipulate the data if i wanted to....

hey last.fm people, what's the deal with the last.fm player? i thought it was like launch on yahoo where they just take your music you've played off your PC and make a station, but i can't get the freaking thing to start. anybody know what i need to do? does anybody use the last.fm player even?

i swear i think i get dumber every day. i blame our friend alcohol.

for those that listen to last.fm, you know how they changed the profile pages to where pictures of recent bands appear next to your recently played list? has anyone seen how we can get a chart style for that?
