Yes for some reason the Cards can't wait to show their ass whenever they play the Cubs. Still I guess it helps the Cubs when 4 of our starters are on the bench. Wood coming out of the pen is a great idea. Maybe that will be the key to getting him to play an entire season without injury. Still think Dusty Baker is an idiot.

BTW why is it that the only times the card/cubs seem to play this season is at the end of the season? If we had a couple series with the line up we had at the beginning of the year, the Cubies would be even more out of the race.

there is only one position player in mlb better than albert pujols. his name is vladimir guerrero.

good choice with Vlad. My only problem with him is that he strikes out too much and he loves to swing at the first pitch (which I am always against). He certainly is a fantastic player though and would make any team better.

hmm....i can see the argument for vlad...however...from having seen pujols play on a daily basis: i don't see a guy putting more effort, having a better skill level, or being a better team leader than albert pujols. he is the man and will be for many many years godforbid any injuries.

my problem with vlad is his handling of the strike zone. i like that he can go get pitches, however, that can lead to the K's as JVO pointed out. Team players take walks just as well as get base hits.
