What a waste of a movie and expensive special effects.... complete utter crap. The plot was such a sloppy hodge podge of nonsense with absolutely no story flow from A to Z, that I can't believe this thing actually got greenlighted. I did get the blatant references to things like "The Matrix" and "Road Runner" and "The Shining", so maybe that's all the rest of this movie was... references to things that I just didn't get. It's a shame because this had much potential, but was ruined by the most retarded schizo storyline imaginable. I don't know... it was subtitled so maybe the humor just didn't translate over (if it was even supposed to be funny). I do not even recommend renting it. Ugh.

i totally disagree. maybe the translation wasn't very good but i own the movie and have watched it about a billion times. all my friends like it... but my friends that i watched it with were asian too. hmmm

Also, I am planning on checking out Kung Fu Hustle soon. I enjoy martial arts films (especially Bruce Lee).

It's been touched on before, but check out Zatoichi and Shogun Assassin if you haven't seen these. They're great!

I'm also a big fan of well choreographed martial arts films, but that's not what this movie was, at least not in the traditional sense.... Remember the Matrix 2 when Keanu Reeves is surrounded in a circle by thousands of Agents and kicking all their asses... it's on a level of ridiculousness like that. And I couldn't tell if this movie was supposed to be an unfunny comedy or a ridiculous action movie. I don't know, you guys watch it and tell me what you think.

I'll also say Rotten Tomatoes gave it pretty good reviews, so you may be on to something Annie. :)
