one simple search for these words leads to this crapsite (http://www.nogaymarriage.com/default.asp)
interesting to note their plea to keep others from forcing their view of marriage on all americans.
even if we accept the use of the word "forcing", wouldn't all sides be guilty of said affront?
arrrgh.

i think marriage is pretty lame in general. except for the tax break, there doesn't really seem to be any pros.

there is a cultural validation, however surface, as well. i've not deeply considered what that means to me personally, but it's there.
also, international hetero couples can be together by marrying and not have to go through extended visa renewal hassles, etc.
what's interesting to me in that website is the exercise of privilege by a dominant cultural group which permits them to accuse the subordinate cultural group of trying to do what they, the dominant group, already do. i.e. "force a view of marriage"
