Why oh Why must we always show our asses to the Cubs!!!!!??????
Friday we leave the bases loaded 3 times, and our 6 time Gold Glove winner has a Bill Buckner moment leading to us losing in 14 (and me losing several hours of precious sleep!).
Saturday, we have 3 errors in the first two innings and get embarrased on National TV. Plus we lose Albert for some undisclosed amount of time (at first I heard 2 weeks, then 6-8 weeks, and this morning I heard Indefinitly)
Sunday, we actually win a game, though it was one of the uglier games I have seen.
Several things I have a problem with. First of all why is it whenever we have a National TV game we always play like crap and lose. No wonder the east coast bastards never give us any respect, our only games they see, we look like complete ass munches. Second, Mulder and Marquis better figure out what their problems are and fix them immediately. Thirdly, I think Ponson is going to be our most productive pitcher this year. Forth, losing Pujols is of course devastating, but I think there is some silver lining. With Pujols being so dominant we have gotten away from good NL Cardinal baseball. We never steal, never hit and run, never do any of the things that we have done for the past 100 years. With Albert, if the 1 or 2 man steal, they are just going to walk Albert, and we can not afford to get thrown out when Pujols is so good at driving in runs. Also we don't want to waste Albert by having him hit and run. At least the game yesterday was back to basics. 2 stolen bases and a couple of hit and runs. It still absolutely sucks to lose Albert, but his presence turns us into an American League team.
I really like J-Rods numbers, but how is it possible that he doesn't have a home run???????
This will be a great test to see what the Cards are made of? Will they fold like the cubs after losing Lee, or will they scrape together enough wins to remain well over .500? I don't know, but if Marquis and Mulder don't get their heads out of their asses we are going to have major problems. Hopefully we can hold our own, so that there is no need to rush Pujols back unneccessarily. We already have Jimmy playing, and really he should be on the DL also.
At least this pretty much assures us that Walt will pick up another bat. Everyone in MO is saying the Soriano is a lock to be a Red Bird. Not sure how I feel about that. Although I love his bat, he is a really crappy fielder (at 2b or in Left). Not sure if he is worth the money he will demand to only be a half a player.
AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Alright Rant over.
