"A 14-year old is suing myspace for $30 million claiming the site failed to protect her from a 19-year old she met through the site. The suit claims that MySpace doesn't verify a user's identity or age and doesn't do enough to protect users."

:blahblah:
Sucks that this happened (and I'm sure it happens more often than we know), but seriously wtf, I really don't think myspace should be held responsible for the offline activity of their users. It is the parents responsibility to monitor their children's internet activity and educate them of the potential dangers. Parents teach their kids street smarts, right? They wouldn't let them wander around the city by themselves, right? Well, think of the net as one giant city - they need to recognize there will always be good and bad people out there.
