so, i don't know the exact date that larryhead put this whole site together, but his join date was on 6/20/2005, so i think b2p is now officially a year old!

wheee!!!!

so, in rememberance, please post how b2p has changed your life, your mindset, your sense-of-well-being-within-the-cold-impassionate-universe.

mebbe we'll throw a party some day.

Damn one year already? They grow up so quickly! (sniff)

Thanks everyone for continuing to visit here and keeping things interesting!
:woohoo:

Got some good stuff lined up for this year... :)

Also, I must say I think our little web community has had a pretty good first year here... I remember when we started out with just a small ragtag rabble of people who had never used a keyboard before and now we are up to 77 registered members today, over half of which post regularly.. not bad since most everyone is here through word of mouth.... this year I aim to bump up our web presence and hopefully develop this into a great place where people from all over will want to join and participate :)

And really, it's all about you people keeping this place alive. I think we have a great mix of web personalities here :) Your continued participation and support will be crucial moving forward, so keep on posting!

Also, I've been receiving a lot of great feedback and suggestions from you folks, so please keep sending it my way. If you have an idea, post it! And who knows we might even implement it someday (ha!) Hey, stranger things have happened ;)

Finally, I think we should pick a date for our first big B2P party... perhaps at the end of summer or early fall? What do you guys think?

I dunno if it's changed my mindset so much, but it's definitely kept me more in touch with everyone

My favorite B2P moment was all the drama with WithoutCanseco. That guy was just plain nuts :D

yeah. what a tool.

LH, what are you planning on doing to increase web prescence? i can throw some links up on my myspace and on schizocentral and The Test Band pages, and also send out bulletins and whatnot (myspace...resigned sigh...)

For sure, if you and anyone else has some sites and don't mind giving us a link, that would help out! Maybe I should make up some buttons and banners too, heheh :groucho:

I'm still working out a solid strategy, but link backs for sure help out with the SE's. One other hurdle is that we have no central topic to bring people in that everyone is interested in (ie. like fishing, dog owners, ass fetishists, etc. would all be very targeted types of message boards with users looking for similarly deranged people :)). Instead, we are kinda all over the place, which is still cool and fine since this this mostly just a place for friends to hang and shoot the shit.

However, I think to really grow we would need something more specific and I'm not really sure what that would be yet. If anyone has suggestions, lemme know... :)

I learned that I'm not very articulate and I suffer from poor spelling.
And its easy to enrage Duckplucker over sports nonsense.

I love the board! I check it everyday!

I learned that many of my comments are sure-fire threadstoppers...anyone care to prove me wrong on this one?

Also I remembered how much I like hanging with my peoples. This keeps us a bit closer and I think that I owe my participation in the float trip to B2p. I wouldn't have remembered to sign up otherwise. Woo hoo!

Hey, I'm a threadkiller too.

I like knowing what's going on with all my ex-Columbia peeps that are now spread out all over the country.

B2P is the best sixty dollars you ever spend.
If it wasn't for LH & Slam, I would not be the poster I am today,
And I would not have the confidence to go to B2P.
Move yourself up in the world go to B2P.
Sixty dollars, you won't be sorry for long.

B2P is the best sixty dollars I ever spent.
If you got sixty dollars left in your pocket, go to B2P.
You won't be sorry for long.
LH & Slam made me the poster I am today.
Wasn't for LH & Slam, I would be posting in Albania or some Balkan country

If it wasn't for LH & Slam, I would not be the poster I am today...
And hopefully tomorrow.

B2P gave me the confidence to be a poster
If it wasn't for them, I would still have sixty dollars.
LH & Slam made me the best poster on the internet
In all the balkan countries put together.

--------------------------------------------

You know its been about one year since I joined B2P
And I just want to say that their sixty dollar course changed my life.
Since my graduation, I've travelled to Prague, Milan, Paris & Buffalo NY.
And now I drive a fifty thousand dollar LaForce Automobile
With total suede package, with subwoofers
And specially designed custom glass rims.

Also, in my closet, shoes.
So many shoes you cannot believe
And next to it a drawer with socks, full of the socks,
More than enough for each pair of shoes.
Yes, that's a many.

And the women. Let me tell you, the women, my God.
I can't go into the details, let's just say,
I know all about the secret garden.

So, let me just say "thank you" from nearby the bottom of my heart.

Wow, that is pretty wild. I never even checked if there was a site here in the past, looks like it was some kinda amateur auction/retail site for Magic: The Gathering or something ... actually I have no fucking idea what it was, that former site sucks too badly to tell, heheh.

I especially liked this part:

"Design comments or any suggestions are always welcome and greatly appreciated. We know that viewing an ugly site sucks, and if the information is complex, slow, or inaccurate, the website is worthless. Mail anything of that or to blahblahblah
...
Our site designer, shaddie, has tried very hard to make things compatible with most browsers, but not all could be achieved."

Indeed, Shaddie, not all could be achieved

so is there any way to get stats on threadkilling? that could be worthwhile. i bet my precentage is pretty high..... we could give prizes for the lowest monthly average and watch the games begin!:groucho: ;)

and b2p, thank for all the good times. i have never in my life used an emoticon until now!

that's really funny you mention that. i've done some digging into some software for finding stats like who does the most threadkilling, who has the most words, what everyone's most/least used words are, and i couldn't find any.

so i think i'm going to write my own. maybe i'll start a topic seeing which stats everyone would most like to see.

i've guessing JVO has the highest word count.

I was thinking of two things that you might add to the membership bios. Sex? (Male/Female, not do you have it!) and Astrological sign. There have been a few people that I did not know if they were Male or Female for quite awhile. This could create an awkward situation if you refer to someone by the wrong pronoun. Birthdays are listed, but I am too lazy to convert them into Astrological Signs.

I don't know if this is more work for the hamster than it's worth, but thought I would throw it out there.
