I use Norton, but maybe check out their site to see the specs on whichever version you have: http://www.mcafee.com/

Thanks it didnt help all that much, I cant find the components that it says it has online. I think it might be because this is a burned copy that my dad got form his work. Im sure its all there but Im not sure if there is other things I should be installing or what. There is a lot of shit in the folder that I have for it but I am so god damn computer ill literate that I dont know what any of it means. Maybe I could give you a call and you could tell me if any of this shit sounds familiar to you? If you want send me your number in a PM.

Right-click on the Virusscan shield in your system tray. Then choose "about Virus Scan." It should tell you your current version, which should tell you if you are up to date. If you aren't you need to right-click it again and choose "virus scan console." You should see AutoUpdate in the list. Right-click it and click the schedule button. I suggest a daily update.

Yeah, I'd try what Hans Brix suggested first... really, I'm not familiar with McAffee at all, so I wouldn't be much help. I've always just used Norton.
