Sooo... the rumor mills are churning here at Playboy and there is a real possibility I could be a fit for a BIG position that is opening out in LA!
Anyone ever live out there? Does it suck as much as it sounds?? :)

Hah.. so did you move because you didn't like it?
that would be freakin' awesome if they put you on that project, LH! i told you your years of hard work (wait, is photoshopping gorgeous naked women all day hard?) would pay off eventually!
just remember, spanky: we gotta sign our lease again soon...
i visited LA once. drove from LAX to the Burbank airport. hated every second of it. but i bet the freeway isn't the most scenic part of town...

I know I know... lease renewal is coming up.. but it's also too early to say if this job will become an actuality or not.. could be a bit of a long shot.. BUT it would be pretty sick though... six figures, wtf!

I've been out there many times. My grandfather lives in "the O.C." I think you'll like it. It's definitely more expensive to live out there, but you're paid way more. Venice Beach is awesome, you're 6 hrs from Vegas. You travel down to mexico on the weekends. It's a pretty fun place. You just have put up with more than your average amount of pretentious people. Oh yeah.... a higher percentage of "beautiful people" too.:-P

The beautiful people get pretty old after awhile. Just remember they are flakes!
Congrats on the opportunity!

i went there about a year ago with the girlfriend. she went to college there for four years so she would have a better idea than i would. as for my opinion. i was only there a week but it lived up to every stereotype i had heard. everyone i met was either an actor, director, writer, or producer. and they pretty much talk about themselves...actually they talk more about the people they " know".
i did like southern california overall though, i just wouldn't be able to live in LA.

Holy moly that's crazy! 'Sup, I know it's been ages since I've reared my meatyball head on this board, but I truly was bored to pieces today so I decided to take a peek at the place to be bored..to..pieces...yeaaahh anyway...
My nephew, who is 29, lives in LA...he is from the ol' hood of Algonguin. He seems to like it a lot, but the one and only night that I went to visit him he took me out and said more than once that LA is definitely the place "to see & be seen". I just gave him a dull stare. It is full of beautiful babies, running amuck, trying to get their shot as a performer of sorts...even the bartenders are only slinging drinks in between rehearsals. Can be a fun place to party, and people can be nice but you're not sure if it's just because they think you might be an undercover talent scout. Quite plastic overall.
But 6 digits, shhwwwaay...it's worth a go. I say good luck meng!!!

YO,
You remember Crystal? She lives in LA. She loves it. I hated it. But then again I was there for 5 days in a house with cats (I'm very allergic) and it was 100 degrees (he heat bothers my MS) and her roomate was a wierdo. She does have an orange tree in her back yard, which is pretty awesome.
So... that's that. But I can "hook you up" with her digits.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Don't forget the little, clothed people on your way up the superstar ladder.

i was there for work for a few days.
it seemed like an endless kansas city with a beach and a movie industry.
it seems like one of those places you either glom to or do not.
