I need to purchase a tent for this float trip. Anyone got any suggestions on good brands, or brands to stay away from.

i've always found coleman tents to be reliable.

coleman for sure.. mine sleeps two and was around $100 i think.. got it at walmart last year.

also.. don't forget about a plastic ground cloth (for under the tent.. prevents moisture getting in)... and one of those foam mattress thingies.

thats a good point, LH.

also, if you have an R.E.I. or similiar store near you, i would just go there and get help from one of their outdoorsy types.

i've been using this tent since the late nineties and i've never had a problem.

yeah, tarpaulins are absolutely necessary when camping, especially if it rains. you can use them to cover sitting areas too.

ooh, and get a small shovel as well, in case it really rains and you have to dig a trench around your tent. that's fun when you have to do that.

OK, does anyone else see a huge Abercrombie and Fitch billboard of some dude's crotch or am I just imagining that?

Middup

I will be bringing my tent. It would fit us both, but if you are bringing a friend, you will want to go to walmart and get yer own. I got mine there (ozark trail brand) and it has kept me dry through several large down pours without a tarp or a trench to help it.

I have a small inflatable sleep pad for myself, but if you brought a big enough air mattress, we could both sleep in comfort.

See you soon brother man

Yeah... I would guess some guys need extra room when they "pitch a tent."
