Ok, Joel keeps forcing me to watch this and I just don't get it..
yea, the yard guy is hot but it seems like their plot twists are just boring interpretations of Picket Fences...
little help?

I have the same problem with Desperate Housewives that I did with Sex in the City and The View. These women are stuffy whores, and in no way likeable. They're not even funny. It's hard to get behind a totally reprehensible set of main characters.
Also, Terri Hatcher should be put in a giant blender and pureed. They the puree should be burned. Then the ashes should be sent in a rocket to the sun. That might finally do it.

I have to disagree with your Sex in the City take. I think the show grows on you as you watch. I like it and think its funny.

SQ-
yea, grows on you like a fungus
Matty-
good idea with the Hatch! I find it incredible that she can get a job on television anywhere (other than Lifetime) after those Radio Shack commercials. Oh wait, I have a great idea... for next season Tracey Gold should move into the neighborhood and then they can deal with eating disorders on top of all the other crap.

Are you bitter because its a show about women's sex lives. I can see why a couple of gay guys may not be all that interested in it. :)
The question is: Why do you and matty watch shows that you hate?

if that were the case, why do we love the Golden Girls?
as for me being mildly familiar with them, I am frequently forcced to consume the brain-numbing tripe as part of my spousal duties... i don't know what Matty's excuse is...

They're not shows about women's sex lives, they're shows about what women wish their sexlives were like. Dating isn't very glamorous. These are shows about hot girls slutting themselves out. (Thanks JVO.)
I don't watch these shows. I watched a few consecutive episodes, made my judgment, and I'm done. I don't watch them because I don't like them.
A show can be about women's sex lives and still not suck.
Frankly, SQ, I can't believe you like them either! Something about you sitting there happily watching Sarah Jessica Parker prance through a field of daisies talking about her vagina is just creepy...

I like the show. I've never seen any of the characters prancing through daisies. Nice for you to stereotype that show that way. Sarah Jessica Parker's character is not my favorite. She is very neurotic and is an idiot. I like it because its spunky and fun. Plus there are always hot guys on the show. The last season with that Mr. Smith...he is a fine looking man.
TV is supposed to be entertaining. I don't give a shit about realism, its about how entertaining is the show. No one is watching the Sopranos because its realistic. Its the same thing.
Plus I don't want to hear anything from the peeps the love to watch the REAL WORLD and SURVIVOR!
I typically stay away from anything on network television unless all of the shows are over. Network TV, they just sell their souls to make a show. I learned my lesson after the X-Files. Way to turn a show into a piece of shit.
Plus I'm a girl. I like girly shows. :lick:

I'm just saying it seems like the type of show where if anyone else were watching it and you happened to catch them, you would belittle them. As for your comment about Survivor, I see it's okay if YOU like something that sucks! :D

I'm most like Miranda! Uh-oh! Someone from my past is willing to reconnect, but, like, OH MY GOSH! Am I ready?? I'd better talk it over with my girlfriends!

ok...so i also have watched all of the sex and the cities....i agree with soul queen. good show! very entertaining, but not for everyone. in fact...i'm a bit shy about admitting to having liked them. also...i have watched all of the desperate housewives. i was moderately entertained on that one. it is a bit lame, but it was enuf to make me laugh from time to time.

"You Are Most Like Samantha!
For you, dating is the ultimate sport
You're into guys with power, looks, or a lot of money.
You rather have a great two weeks than a great forever.
But even you fall victim to love from time to time :-)"
Evidently I'm a big slut. Who knew?
Seriously, the events of the past 2-3 years have made me a bit jaded. I wonder which character I would have been when I was still married?
I must say I couldn't give a damn about all of these shows, though I doubt that hetrosexual males are the target audience. I have never seen any of these (ok I watched 5 minutes of DH just to see Teri Hatcher whom I love because I think girls are pretty!), but I bet if you cross referenced people who watch Sex in the City with people who watch Survivor you would see that they are mostly the same people. Survivor is about sexism, deception, racism, will, strength, social skills, communication skills, ability to survive in the wild, ability to relate with others, ability to sense other's feelings, manipulation, ability to overcome fear, ability to deal with the elements and is filmed in some of the most beautiful and remote places in the world. It has survived (no pun intended) 10 seasons and continues to be CBS's number 1 show. I don't think you can possibly belittle Survivor while at the same time supporting SintheC. That's all I got.

Sex in the City = Cleverly written comedy . .. everyone that has seen a few episodes has to agree on that . . . much more clever than the steamy piles of dung that are out these days.
Though, heterosexual males will feel a little gay when watching it.

I like Sex in the city own the seasons on DVD, and and begining to enjoy Desperate house Wives, I think its Drama thats all if you dont like Drama tv based around a group of women that spend most of there time stuck home which causes them to get themselves in trouble and get horny then dont watch it. And sex in the city is just fun to watch, it gets into the mind of women and at that 4 different women from different outlooks of life. Not many shows give so much time to main female characters or let them be so real so its kinda refreshing to watch and about the "whore" part ..... were all human, with sex lives... hopefully.......lol
