Hey dp, what kind of mac do you have?

I've been using a Mac G5 here at work for over a year with OS X, and have had barely any issues with it... very user friendly. Plus they just increased my RAM to 1.5GB, so now it's really hauls ass. I would even consider getting one for home, except that I'm a PC enthusiast at heart.

What kinda errors are you seeing? Are you plaing the MP3's through iTunes?

i put in the disc with mp3s on it, and nothing happens.

nerdy girl has tried messing with !tunes. i don't know anything about it.

if you can suggest a way to play these mp3s, that would be super.

this computer can hardly handle internet. it always locks up and runs slow. its not dial up. its cable internet. the internet explorer will just suddenly shut down all the time.

nerdy girl has a friend who swears she knows how to make the mac play the mp3s but we haven't gotten her over here yet.

i am thinking about buying a new computer just to play 007's music. i have to buy a new car first though. $$$$$$$$$$$$

If so, you prolly have OS X and it should be easy to get working.

I'm still not sure what type of Mac you have. Or is it a laptop or possibly a G4 (the older turquoise & white kind of case).

Next, stop using Internet Explorer on a Mac - forever. That will only cause you grief, even M$ doesn't support it anymore. Use either Safari (installed by default) or install FireFox for Mac (what I recommend and use at work): http://www.mozilla.com/

To play your MP3's, when you put the CD in the drive, does the CD appear on your desktop? Or is it a DVD - perhaps you don't have a DVD drive? Just trying to figure out what's wrong. :)

Once you put the disc in, it should show up on your desktop and you can play the MP3's on the disc from inside iTunes. Just launch iTunes and go to: File > "Add to Library" and find the CD on your desktop that has the MP3's on it.

it is not either of those models in your links.

it doesn't have a separate tower for the cpu.

the monitor is a bulbous white plastic box which looks like a television and has the cpu behind the monitor.

i have switched to safari and it is better.

i'll try your suggestions.

nerdy girl says the computer has a dvd drive. it only has one drive. it comes out of the monitor near the bottum on the front.

sounds like an old imac. i doubt it runs osx. if it does have a dvd drive, it'd be an old one, and may not be able to read burn dvds.

I don't know much about the older macs, so I'm afraid I can't help you much there.. time for an upgrade possibly!
