Anybody watch?
Anyone else think its going to be a recap of historical events with standard HBO nudity, violence, and flair?
Jury's still out... but its nice to see titties and beav' while watching something that isn't entirely brain dead
Sounds like a rave review to me, Zero.
it was pretty decent. most hbo dramas take a few episodes to really get going though, so i'll be anxious to see how it fares. i like the two soliders though. and they cast some real hotties to take their clothes off. the scene of the woman being showered in cow blood was HOT!
for a show that's supposed to take such pains to be as accurate as possible, i was kinda surprised to see all the ladies so neatly trimmed. i guess that's one area where i don't mind anachronism so much

So I wasn't the only one to notice that! :p

Speaking of Rome... the History channel has also been playing a great series on Rome where each episode covers a different period and follows around some famous and also everyday people. It's really cool seeing how the city looked back then and how people went about their day... it was very much like modern day Amsterdam. I just watched the one where Augustus dies and the next few Ceasars turn the city into a den of inequity and orgies (Caligula, Nero, etc.). Watch it if you get the chance.

I've been watching the discovery channel thing, which is actually on the History Channel. It's awesome. I'm obsessed with ancient Roman and Greek culture.

Third episode was sucky. Caesar just brought his legion across the ol' Rubicon, and Pompeii fled Rome. Nothing else much happened.

Anyone catch the fourth episode last night? Looks like Caesar is back in control of Rome and that soldier with the skull plate in his head returned the gold to him. And Caesar offered a treaty (mutual disarmament) to Pompeii, which he'll decline it looks like.
The last two episodes have been pretty weak so hopefully they're building towards something big. Not nearly enough sex and violence lately.
