So what type of event is this? The morning wedding kind of has me thrown off as what to wear?

Is this a dressy affair and how dressy?

I was just TODAY notified that I have that time off. Where are people staying? How am I getting there? That last one's not really anybody's problem but mine, I guess...But where are people staying? And for how long?

Hey guys.

I was just thinking that a thread like this might be necessary.

Here's what I know. My family is staying at the hotel where the block of rooms is reserved(see your invitation). If you are driving up saturday and planning on driving back sunday, you might find a cheaper hotel in the southern suburbs (burnsville). Any spare space that I currently have is being held for wedding party people. If need be, I can see if you can crash on a floor/couch with some of our friends who will be going to the wedding too.

If you are in the airport on concourse G, I believe pauly said he might be able to hook up some eats. (see post on this board). I can't speak for anything else he might provide.

I am off work on Friday, and may be picking people up from the airport in between scrambling to get things together. That evening, Katie and I will eat dinner with our parents (they haven't met yet). If bangg hooks up a bachelor party, it would likely be that night, after dinner. No word on whether that is happening or what would be planned yet. If the guys in the group are planning on being in town that night, feel free to PM bangg with your suggestions.

I was also considering going out for a saturday morning brunch with whomever of our friends who are in town by then. Saturday at 4:30 is the rehearsal, and following will be the rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and close family. As many guests will be on their own for the evening, Katie and I are going to put together a list of places to go and things to do in the area, so you won't be bored.

Sunday morning, I get ready, get married, and then we have a brunch reception (with drinks, yes) from 11 to 2. We expect that some people will have to leave afterwards to fly/drive home for work on Monday. For people who are staying, we are planning to have a more intimate after party at the hotel at around 4pm, with family and friends.

Katie and I will retire early, as we have to get up really early to be at the airport before 7 on Monday for our honeymoon.

So, there's the scoop as I know it. I hope that you are able to make it. For such a trip, your prescence will be the greatest presents we could receive. Let me know what you will need, and I will do my best to help you set it up.

Much love,

professor

SQ,

to answer your question--dress warmly I will be in a tux,Katie will be in her grandma's wedding dress. katie's relatives will likely be wearing suits, my relatives will likely be dressed suitably enough for a small town church (nothing fancier than biz casual). The brides maids will be wearing sun dresses with a cherry print, so they won't be super dressy. It will be a mixed bunch.

So If you have something warm and dressy, wear it. Honestly, if you came rockin' sweatpants and a motley crue T-shirt, I would still be just as glad to see you.

Concourse G is in the house.....Let me know plans as I am scheduled to work most of those days, but will be taking some time to accomodate DP and friend. Also, I have a Brothers house just ten minutes from Burnsville in Apple Valley with two or three spare places to crash. My front yard is reserved for Chief Greywolf and the spare bed is good for DP, but I live about 30 minutes from Burnsville so If you want the couch you'll need to get transportation. I also Have a sister in law who manages Hampton Inn so if you want I can get a couple 35 dollar a night rooms at family rate.
Hope this helps

hmmmm. that helps.

Slam are you booking us a room somewhere?

007 and my plans: Flying into Chicago Thursday night, hang out with slam until he drives us to Minneapolis, fly out of Minneapolis early (I mean early 6:30ish) Monday morning.

I'm not for sure when we are driving in. I think Saturday. I'm not sure where we are staying yet.

Warm? What are you talking about. I have thrown all my winter clothes away! :D :p

seriously, hmm, I must look at the wardrobe. I know what 007 is wearing. I believe he wears the same outfit to every wedding.

haven't booked rooms yet, want to finalize plans. if the bachelor party is friday night, i'd like to be in town for that. plus, laina and i need to be back by monday, so we'll be leaving on sunday after the reception, so sq and 007 will need their own room that night.

plus, if we can get the family rates through pauly, and the hotel isn't too far, we might just get individual rooms there.

i'll call you tonight SQ.

Wedding and reception are at the Walker Arts Center 1750 Hennepin Ave. S. Minneapolis MN 55405.

The airport is south and east of there. It is on Highway 494 in
Bloomington MN, not far from the Mall of America. It should stand out on any map of the twin cities.

Please send in your RSVP cards soon, if you are coming. Please indicate whether it will be only you or you and your significant other coming. We want to get an accurate count. The caterers will only put out the number of seats we need and we want to avoid paying for people who aren't coming.

Thanks. And Pauly, I barely know you, but thanks for all you are doing to hook this up for my guests. You're great.

Weddin'... Woo-hoo!
