View Full Version : T2 & T3
So I just finished watching the Terminator series. They are really excellent movies. All three a big thumbs up.
My topic concerns sequels. I think that T2 was possibly better than T1. And, T3 was at least as good as T1.
So the question is : What other movies can you think of where the sequel outshines the original?
T2 > T3 > T1
terminator 2 rocked. hard. and the director's cut is the shit. t3 was awesome tongue-in-cheek goodness, with one of the single greatest car chases in cinematic history! t1 was great for when it came out, but is hardly timeless.
i think ginger snaps 2 was better than the first, but the original was good as well (thanks matty for tipping me on this great series!)
from what i've heard, batman 5 is better than batman 3 and 4, possibly 1 and 2 as well. though that series really swung downhill there in the middle. they should've killed off robin like in the comics.
mmmm, aliens better than alien? superman ii better than superman?
DRUNKEN MASTER 2!! lightyears ahead of the first.
and then the all time classic sequel, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK!
Has anybody actually seen that new Batman?

the new batman has its strong and weak points.
new design- super cool
michael cain- suprisingly cool considering he's normally a rat-bastard
cillian/scarecrow- underdeveloped and not tied in very well... but Cillian is just adorable
love story- crappy
joker foreshadowing- extra cool!
Christian Bale- an acceptable Batman.. quite a contrast from the waif in the Machininst and the doughy fairy in Velvet Goldmine, tho..
Ra's Al Ghul/Liam- a fairly straight forward presentation of Ra's.. though I thought the tie b/t him & Scarecrow was pretty weak... why does this millenia old secret society need a fey-loonie's help in destroying Gotham?
my verdict- I'd watch it again at someone's house but wouldn't pay to see it in theatres again.
i would be curious to know what more die-hard batman fans would think... Matty?

Unfortunately, I've been out of the loop on movies and haven't seen Batman Begins. People keep telling me it's the best one.

I don't see how it could possibly out-match the Tim Burton ones, but it's definatele better than the rest.

The newest Batman is absolutely awesome. I can't say enough good things about it. It opens up a new, realistic possibility for batman. I think Batman Begins is one of the best new movies I've seen lately(outside of the last star wars). I can't wait til a sequel comes out.
