For anyone in the Chi-town area:
There is a small group of us going to the Lake for a picnic tomorrow (Sunday the 4th). It was my b-day yesterday but I had to work all weekend so I thought this might be a fun thing to do. Plus Monday is a holiday so it will be the perfect day to get your drink on with hotdog in hand.
Here's the email I just sent out, I don't have many addresses so I apologize for those of you I know but didn't send to:
Hi Everybody,
There aren't a whole lot of us going so it should be pretty low key, but that will be easier I think. How does 2:00pm-ish sound as a time to head to the lake? I know it's kind of later but I don't know if we'll get everyone up and ready to go somewhere any earlier. I'm just hoping we'll be able to find a shady spot somewhere b/c it is Labor Day weekend and it might be kind of crazy.
I think we should head over to the park/beach right by Bryn Maur because I think there is parking and it won't be as nuts as if we go to like Montrose Beach or somewhere a little more popular. Please if anyone has a good idea of a better place speak up and let us know...I'm up for whatever...loose as a goose, as they say. I'm going to take a drive by there after work to see what it looks like - I've only actually been over there at night, after drinking, so I'm just a tinch fuzzy...hehe.
Roy & I are bringing one or two of those disposable grills, and a bunch of hot dogs, maybe chicken, & stuff like that. We'll also grab potato salad from the deli & chips & stuff. If you want to grill something else like steak or anything please feel free to bring whatever. We'll probably also grab a case or two of beer & some soda - ooo, John can we use your cooler?
Don't forget to bring frizbees, balls & gloves, & whatnot to goof around with. Everyone is welcome to meet at our apartment first or meet us there - call my cell 773/620-6012 or Roy's 815/474-8378 to find out where we are.
Yay, looking forward to a most delicious, relaxing day,
Amy
