I have an iTunes question:

If I drag and drop album artwork, say, from amazon.com, does anybody know where the hell that artwork is saved? I've looked all over my directory structure and can't find anything at all. I even saved a picture to my harddrive, then used that picture for some artwork. I then deleted the picture and restarted iTunes and it still showed up in iTunes! It's gotta be being saved somewhere.

I've heard it gets saved as part of the mp3 tag information -- but I can't figure out how to look at that either.

If anybody knows, that would be awesome.

typically the artwork IS saved in the actual mp3 file as part of the tag. so looking for it in the directory structure isn't going to find it.

i don't tag stuff with itunes, though. i use a prog called tag&rename. if you're on a pc, you could probably get the shareware version of that software to check out what's in the tag.

does itunes have plugins yet?

slam is right, iTunes stores the image inside of each .mp3 file as a tag (it typically only bumps the filesize up a few kb). You should be able to highlight the song(s) and then right click->Get Info then look for the menu heading called Artwork to delete it. To add artwork, you just highlight the song(s) and drag the image file from your desktop to the iTunes artwork window.

I usually get all my artwork from http://www.allmusic.com/ (BMG's site)... they have everything at the right dimensions, and they don't put that stupid "40% off" tag over their album covers.
