erk. little hung over this fine day. yesterday was the last day of work for my boss (doublep). went out and got a little drunk after work. then mr. poof dogg (who's in town setting up some hospital shit in joliet) dropped by, and we went over to paul's for some fresh homebrew and fish and squash.

i then got suckered into going back out with my boss, for a few more rounds, including some whiskey. i tried to convince him that some of us still had to go to work today, but he was having none of it!

so here i am. first day as director of it, and man, i'm feeling crappy.

Another busy day at the office for me, so I will be pretty scarce today. We just launched a new site Friday and now we are tweaking and testing everything. I've gotten a few free lunches out of the gig from one of the higher-ups, and now I am comfortable saying, "Yes, yes there is such a thing as a free lunch. I have had one myself." :D

Slam, sounds like your day is going how mine went yesterday... miserably hungover. Take some advil and drink lots of (vitamin) water yo! :thumbsup:

I have noticed I get worse hangovers on whiskey than vodka... usually. I made the mistake of having several Maker's on the rocks on Tuesday and paid for it dearly all day Wed. However, last weekend I had a couple vodka martinis (dirty as can be!), and was totally fine the next day... that is also my new favorite drink. :)

sorry to hear about the hangover, but at least everything from this point on will only get better. i never worry about starting at the bottom, cause when you make it back up to speed everyone is really impressed. ta-daa!

and yes, i do think that whiskey is a much meaner hangover than vodka. at least for me, and in general terms.

i myself have had a fine day. its beautiful here in new york. and i just taught my first class at the Y. absolute beginners jewelry. i was a little nervous at first because it is a stock syllabus that i had never taught before, but all the same basic intro stuff. once i got used to my new surroundings i got over it and had fun. i haven't taught in about a year and i forgot how much i liked it.

and now in a few hours i am going to meet friends for a yummy dinner at a veg place in manhattan called gobo. they promise it is super good. so yeah! good day for me, sorry about yours slam. hope you feel better soon. : )

Has anyone tried those anti hangover pills?

I rarely drink enough to get a hangover, but it might be worth it if you are going out on a weeknight.

i've not taken the pills, but i always rely on B vitamins. take two and drink tons o water and you should be good in the morning. the B is what makes getting drunk off of homebrew more tolerable - so they say - because it still contains more of its fermentation particulate. cloudy unfiltered beer is good too.

I have taken the anti hangover pills, bullshit I say! Of course I single handedly almost killed a bottle of Johnny black. My brother gave me these efervescent tablets from AUstralia called Berocca. Tastes good, plus they are loaded with B vitamins. The only bad thing about Berocca.....they make you have to pee like a racehorse. One before, and one before bed, and sometimes in the morning, should set you straight.

Well, My wife has been out of town for a week now and I decided to quit my job at the crappy airport. (sorry but my last day is Oct. 5th) Since i really don't care about the old job ( I start work at Applebee's on the 9th of october.) And my wife is out of town I have taken the liberty of enjoying numerous beers. Yesterday I had the day off and today I had to go to court to fight a Gross Misdemeanor DWI, Domestic assult, and Disorderly conduct...well today was the arrainment and I was told I had to go and get a machine that i have to blow into a couple of times a day but i would need a landline. After a few word between lawyers and judges They finally gave me some time to get a landline.
Until at least Nov 2nd I am to breath into a machine and submit to random drug tests. Whatever happened to Innocent until proven guilty.
today I am going to have a few (many) beers

Your assuming DP will be sober! He may get you into more trouble.
