House Shoes

I recently heard that this word existed. I understand what slippers are, but apparantly people have shoes that they where in the house.
So I was hoping to get an understanding...

Apparantly it is a getto word for slipper. but I think that it looks a little different than a slipper.
I have been asking people at the airport and all know what a house shoe is. I just found out about it a couple of weeks ago.

slippers are absolutely necessary with hardwood floors. and i highly recommend a bathrobe to go along with them. i acquired one a few years ago and i practically live in it during the winter. i plan on getting drunk in it sometime.

i wear my indoor crocs in the apartment. my fella wears his indoor flip flops. we most certainly don't wear our street shoes inside. it keeps all the crap that is tread upon in the dirty streets of new york at the door mat and no farther.

i am a big fan of the asian tradition of house shoes. keeps the home cleaner and healthier. we also take our inside shoes off for the bathroom. bare feet in there only.

one might think that we are clean freaks because of these measures, but you would be wrong. its just that every little bit helps, and we need all the help we can get. : )

Nope, I do it too. I have some Dr. Scholls sandals that are my house shoes, but when it gets cold I wear actual fuzzy slippers.
