For instance, would you vote for someone simply because he/she is black and you feel that there should be more minorities in influential positions? Would you vote for a woman for the same reason? Just curious, thanks :)

nope. i vote for whoever i think will do the best job.

that even goes along party along. i'll vote for a republican over a democrat or independant whatever party if i think they'll do a better job. (i've done that already)

I don't vote along those lines either. I read up on the issues and try to vote for whom I believe would do the best job.

I must admit that there may be instances in which I would vote a certain way because of race. For instance, if there was a Presidential election between two candidates who I felt completely neutral about and one of them was black and the other was white, I think I would vote for the black candidate. The reason I would do this is because I think there would be some major long term benefits to having a black President (same with a woman President) and I think it would be incredibly inspiring to young black America (a group that needs as much inspiration as possible.) Now if I really liked the candidate opposing the black person, than I would vote for whitey, but all things being equal I could see myself voting for the black candidate because of race (or gender).

That is really the only situation that I could see myself voting based on race.

do as much research as some ppl here but I have certain issues like foreign policies and science and education that I really care about. I read up on those and the one I like the best gets my vote. The problem is that many times I dont really like either person, as has been the past couple of presidential elections, and so I dont vote at all. I have trouble voting for the lesser of two evils.....Although in the case of Bush I voted against him and it didn't matter if the devil himself were running.

i agree in some light to what you are saying madre... but the thing is you have to vote you have to try and make a deffrence becuase the poor people cant do it alone.

i hate republicans too duck but think about what the devil would do to you that a rep. would not...... at least the reps would fight for you if they were your friend.

like some people i know that are in college would not stand for me getting the shit kicked out of me ....... any ways its important to know that some reps. would let you bleed on the streets in brood daylight than help you out of the gutter or your own pool of blood.

i know jvo has an oppion so lets see what he has to say... el' presidentena!!!
