Maybe the hurricane didn't happen at all...
Maybe New Orleans is fiction.. has anyone actually been there?

I think in the midst of all the conspiracy theories, we're losing sight of the real questions here: Why don't we all have jobs at Halliburton?? What, am I not evil enough? I want to be rich, too!!
just buy halliburton stock. i'd say it's a safe bet for the rest of bush's term.

This shit is getting old. I'm reaaaaaallly hoping that this bumblin' New Orleans shit is going to swing the next election to the Blue. Of course, the citizens that voted Red probably aren't paying attention anyway and will vote just like Grandpappy did, because they don't know any better.

Just had a thought... who are the major competitors with Halliburton? Are there many who can take on a project of that magnitude? Anybody know?
not really. most of that rebuilding stuff used to be done by the actual military. when cheney was sec. of defense under bush v1.0 they decided to spin off all those military rebuilding projectes to the private sector (cause, you know, there'd be competition, and it'd be cheaper, and other such nonsense.) then cheney went and got himself a fat-cat job running halliburton and suckling on the teet of all of those contracts he'd set up earlier. pretty slick.
it's basically just a massive fraud, and a way to channel your hard-earned tax dollar into private sector dollars to be hoarded by the rich and well-connected. remember when public service was supposed to be it's own reward? well, now it's all about which companies you can help out while in office so that they can give you sweet jobs (aka kickbacks) when you're back in the private sector.
i can't believe we let cheney still collect paychecks from halliburton. what. the. fuck.
