Anyone saving up for something cool? :)
I've been eyeing the Boomerang Phrase Sampler for some time since I used hasslehound's awhile back:

It lets you create layered loops up to four minutes long and do cool stuff with them!

Nice, I had also been thinking a gong would make a great doorbell for my place :)

After I'm done saving up for my wedding, I'll be saving up for a new guitar and drums. I currently have a cheap Ibanez that goes out of tune if you look at it. I'd like to get something more fitting for the Roboggan (http://www.myspace.com/roboggan) sound, such as a Gibson SG, Fender Strat, or PRS. Any recommendations for a guitar that sounds great both clean and distorted?
And I don't have drums yet, or a place to put them....but that will work itself out I hope.

Fender Telecaster w/ humbucker (preferably American or Japanese made).
And especially played out of a Twin Reverb.

My next purchase will be a Peavey Valveking half stack. I have a need for more volume, now that I am playing with other musicians who own 300 watt Line 6 stacks. Good golly miss Molly, thats an ear ringer. It really is not so much saving up, but convincing the wife I need to throw $1000 at a new amp. She is under the terribly misguided idea that my little 2 x 12 135W Peavey is loud enough!!! How rude.

Is there a better amp on the planet for those glassy clean tones than a Twin Reverb??? I swear you cannot coax a bad sound out of them.

If it has a good tone, you really should charge.

Clean and distorted?? This may very well be the first timeI have said this since Leo Fender left in 1984, but a good Strat with a humbucker in the bridge( I think they call it a Fat Strat??) will fit your bill. Tele is a great choice too. I do not recommend getting a Tele with the switchable Piezo pickup system, I have seen too many go bad. Or, you can do like I do. Go to www.warmoth.com , have them build the parts you want, in the color, shape, size and wood you want, slap it together and take it to a tech to set it up and wire in your choice of pickups. You get exactly what you want.
check out www.edromanguitars.com, very cool site.
