I went to see the Brewers last night and with the new found success of my Tigers, I have slowly been falling back in love with baseball. I started thinking of stadiums I would really like to see, and would be interested to hear what others look for in a good stadium. I have many fond memories of Tiger Stadium, but would love to see Comerica. I would also really like to see Camden Yard. I have seen Fenway from afar, but never inside. I really like the purity of old stadiums like Fenway, but after watching a game at Miller Park I felt a bit spoiled by the niceness of the facilities. Any thoughts?

I would really like to see Fenway and Pac Bell (or whatever the hell they call it). The stadium in Pittsburg looks beautiful also.

I have been to quite a few. I think Camden Yard is the all around best, and of course Wrigley is the most fun!

The worst ball park I have been is the old Fulton County Stadium (I think that is what it was called?) where the Braves used to play. The K is definitely outdated too, but still the fountains are pretty cool.

I think the New Busch is perfect for St. Louis. Nothing fancy or obnoxious, just a regular decent ball park with a beautiful view of the city. Also a lot less hot than the old one (which is very important to me!).

I was really pissed about them tearing down the old Busch, but after having been to the new one, I have to say it's not so bad.. I do appreciate the downtown view, and I heard it's not 120 degrees on the field at game time anymore...

I would have liked to have seen Candlestick Park and the old Comiskey.

I want to see any ballpark that's so old people are considering tearing it down. I like knowing that games have been played there for YEARS, and want to visit anywhere historic baseball events took place.

comerica is a really, really great park. you should get there someday if you can, cus.

i'd also like to see camden, pac bell, fenway, and yankee stadium. for some reason i'd also like to see a game in seattle. (actually, i'd like to see games in every major league ballpark. time for a roadtrip.)

they have the sausage race at miller. that's nice.

btw, last time the cubs played the brew crew i noticed they had mini sausages racing. anyone know if that was one-time deal or a consistent feature? i loved the mini sausages.

go, chorizo!

I want to go to Fenway Park, which I might do in two weeks when I'm up in Massachusetts visiting a friend. Red Sox fans are the craziest around.

Camden Yards IS nice. Poof and I have a place nearby, but for three more months only, so....

I agree that Red Sox fans are the craziest. I got caught up with 9 girls from Boston who flew to Naples to watch the Red Sox play at spring training. There was at least 7000 people from Massachusetts there to watch a spring training game. Almost everyone had Red Sox gear on.

I would say they were bigger fans than Duck. Thats saying alot.

It was fun. But I kept to myself that I didn't know shit about the Red Sox. I think if they knew that I didn't care that much the girls would have tossed me out of the park. Seriously.

i'd like to see fenway, yankee, camden, comerica, the new philly and pittsburgh parks, the new busch, miller park, and dodger stadium. wouldn't mind pac bell either. and i like how they mow the outfield grass in kaufmann stadium, though it ain't near the top of my list of places to see.

old comiskey was great. the new one really gets a bad rap but the renovations have made it a nice place to watch a game.

wrigley is a shithole.

red sox fans are obnoxious as hell. i went to a chisox-bosox game a few years back, before either had won the world series (so tix were very easy to get to chisox games), and there were at least as many bosox as chisox fans there. most of the bosox fans had flown in from boston too. my section was actually about 80% bosox fans. anyhow i thought it was fun that they were so obnoxious, but not everyone saw it my way. my girl, for one, wanted to kill this one bosox fan who kept chanting in front of us, and there were a lotta fights besides. i thought it was great. white sox fans were kinda lifeless back then. (or maybe it was just that boston beat us like 15-1 that day. i dunno.)

The Red Sox fans are also one of the most dissatisfied fan groups in all of sports too. There was a survey done on ESPN not too long ago, and BoSox fans only had like a 32% approval rating of their team (this was after Dice-K). Only 3 MLB teams had a lower approval rating.

I have a theory that people in New England are only happy if they have something to bitch about.

In my experience covering that area for work...I have to agree....there's no satisfying them....always something wrong. and that's how they like it. its very frustrating for me a field service rep.

Waah. Looks like you're the one who's unsatisfied, Poofy McGee.

I agree with SoulQueen (perhaps because I was on that same trip to Naples) - Red Sox fans are crazy and diehard. I should know since I lived in Boston for 10 years. :)

That being said, Fenway is a great park and if you get a chance to visit you should. You can even do a tour (I think they have them on non-game days) and that's pretty cool and you get to hear a lot of history. Enjoy!
