Watch it. You won't regret it. Hands down the best sci-fi on television right now.

HANS BRIX! OH NO!

Ya . .me agree with that . . Battlestar is just raw . . .

Battlestar is a very well made series, but it is no Farscape :p

Hans Brix

It's hard to compare the two. Farscape was a completely different type of series. Where there was a lot of wacked out humor and off the wall crazy alien shit in Farscape, you have a down to earth, serious, brutal series. Farscape always seemed like a more whimsical adventure series, where the good guys would win. But in Battlestar everyone just fucking dies, no mercy SENSEI!!!!!!

Ya . . the "Battlestar Rule" is the best

(Every child that is introduced in the series is brutally murdered within 45 min, infants included)

Watch the series . . its 100% accurate.

Battlestar Galactica is my favorite now. I hate what they are doing to SG1. The new bad guys seem interesting, but it's just not doing it for me.

I think that SG-1 needs to get Carter back. Unfortunately she had to miss the first few episodes of the season due to having a baby in RL. I think once the original team gets all together and has the new Colonel as the replacement for Macgyver, things will get better. The story line so far is very split up and confusing. Once they are in a team doing missions again, it will be like it was before. I think Colonel Mitchell can be just as good as RDA was.

did anybody see the last bsg episode called Unfinished Business? Apollo and Starbuck beat the fucking shit out of each other! it was awesome.

matty
12-07-2006, 10:33 PM
Yeah, that boxing match was awesome. General Adama's little fight was good too. He's such a man's man. And he's fucking the President, so he's got that going, too!

so does anyone still watch this?? has anyone seen the last two episodes? i'm so sad!

mrjohnchimpo
03-16-2007, 06:46 PM
yeah i'm pretty sure a lot of people still do. i do. and no reason to be sad. there's no way they're writing that character off the show. she'll be back as like one of the final five or something is what i'm thinking.

annie
03-16-2007, 07:34 PM
i hope she is one of the final five cuz i loved her character! there was a gag reel of the people on the show and she joked that they would kill her off and she would actually be a cylon. she was joking but i hope she's right!

do you think baltar is a cylon??

mrjohnchimpo
03-16-2007, 07:49 PM
do you think baltar is a cylon??
no. i think he's a moron.

seriously i can't stand his character. he's annoyed me since the miniseries. almost as much as Tyrol's wife (Callie?).

annie
03-16-2007, 07:57 PM
omg i can't stand cally. i really wanted the chief to be with sharon. sharon's hot. i do have to say baltar is annoying...

i wish they would show at least one of the five already. they're really stretching it but i do love the show.. *sigh* can't win.

matty
03-16-2007, 10:09 PM
Baltar sucks my ball-tars. BalTARD is more like it.

God! I hate his character so much that it almost ruins parts of the show for me. He's a whiny, sniveling, spineless crap. I hope he is a Cylon so that later I can watch somebody blow his head off over and over.

matty
03-16-2007, 10:11 PM
Helo, by the way, is my ultra-super-mega-space-crush. I sit on the edge of my couch every episode praying for his character to get put in some situation where he must remove his shirt. Which happens occasionally. Sometimes I feel like he's looking right at me. At ME!!

am i the only that things this season has been total crap since around episode 4? i mean, when they grabbed the people from the planet, that was awesome, but what the fuck have they done since? i'm getting damn sick of all of the religious shit the cylons keep spewing. what are they all doing these days? shouldn't the cylons be trying to kill the humans or something? wtf?

i think the problem is, i just don't care about any of the characters anymore. apollo's become some wussy idiot that can't figure out who he loves, and starbuck ain't ever recovered from being held by the cylons. it's like, all the badasses are now total wusses... even the cylons!

my interest is waning...

annie
03-16-2007, 10:42 PM
aw slam. i have to agree this season isn't as good. but i'm just holding on for the 5. i just want to know who they are!!! i liked starbuck better when she wasn't with either guy and was just a smart ass. i loved that about her.

apollo is a wuss. the cylons are wusses. they all are.

where do they get their endless water and food?

ps: yeah helo's pretty hot. :)

mrjohnchimpo
03-17-2007, 12:13 AM
slam you just don't like it cause of the religious stuff.

i think it's been good, albeit way weaker than past seasons. what it seems like they're doing with this one is just a TON of character development. but you need to split that up with some badass action scenes or it does tend to get a bit boring.

in the vein of favorite / least favorite characters...lee USED to be among my favorite, not now though for the reasons slam mentioned.

i'd have to say my favorite overall has got to be Chief Tyrol. i dig Tigh as well. dude's hardcore.

Does anyone remember last season??...Colonial Tigh was a hugh wuss, the love story thing was totally going on then too, the only difference is we knew where the cylons were and that they still weren't friendly. I think what's important to remember is that - as we keep being reminded - all of this has happened before and all of it will happen again. The 13th colony MUST have known about the cylons and the final 5 have got to have something to do with that colony... my guess is that the final 5 are the remaining cylons frm the last round of time when the 13th colony formed and had their own wars against their own cylons. Once Earth is finally found the cycle will repeat as well as vary. Maybe 3000 years later after the humans have rebuilt society they've decided to build themselves some other kind of intelligent life they will have to escape to new caprica. Cyclical.

In any case, I think it has the potential to get more interesting again but I think we have shift our minds from action filled to drama, and then it will all be ok.

I have a friend who has a conspiracy theory about Galactica. He says the people who were held prisoner on New Caprica (and now are on Galactica) are STILL being held prisoner by the Cylons, and that the people we know as the President and Starbuck (and a few others) are actually Cylon replicants. Thus, Starbuck didn't die, but her Cylon clone did. That's why the Cylons aren't attacking--they're waiting on their spies to learn shit. It's also a mad conspiracy with the President--her Cylon clone has cancer. When she dies, it will demoralize the humans. That's also why Lee is so crazy lately--he knows, but doesn't know that he knows.

Interesting idea. If he's right, I owe him a Battlestar toy. Also if he's right, it still doesn't make up for Apollo being such a wuss. (I'd still nail the hell out of him, tho...)

annie
03-20-2007, 07:45 PM
that is an interesting theory. i do want to see starbuck again but without the apollo - dee love triangle.

what do you guys think is going on with the president's aid? she's losing her mind.... i'm curious.

i would definitely be on the "when in doubt, they're a cylon" committee with matty.

this theory applies to any show...not just Battlestar Galactica.

The last episode we watched was Season 3, Episode 4 where they finally get off the planet. It just seemed like the show was about to loop right back to where it started at that point, so we stopped watching for the time being.... looks sounds nothing much interesting has been going on huh.

Colonel Tigh as a crusty ol' sea dog when he was stranded on the planet and leading the rebel cause was awesome.

just watched the last part of the season 3 finale.

oh. boy.

i'm not gonna mention anything specific but damn i was in the dark until about 5 minutes left. what a fantastic episode.

now we just have to wait just 10 more months for next season :p

I was advised that I would shit my pants.

I'm forcing JVO to watch the pilot/miniseries, just to get him hooked. He mocks it so far, but when the first nuke went off in Caprica he got a little more interested.

I advise everyone to go back and revisit the miniseries. The first thing that happens is Number Six walking down a long hallway toward the human ambassador, her heels click-clacking the whole way. Eeeeeevil.

mrjohnchimpo

i loved it too. there were some weak episodes in there in spots. i don't like Dee...haha, i just got the Lee and Dee Adama rhyme!...so the episodes with her prominently featured annoyed me. however, one that a lot of people don't like that i freaking loved was the boxing episode. i thought it was some amazing character development and badass fighting.

The final episode this season kicked ass! It was everything i wanted and more. I distinctly remember yelling aloud, "that was fucking awesome". My roommate had no clue wtf I was talking about. Earth Baby! Here we come.

you know what would be funny? if they shitcan the amazing hour long space battle with the huge cyclon fleet that they COULD have and do a jump forward like they did in between seasons 2 and 3 and they're already on earth just chillin' out.

matty
03-30-2007, 08:37 PM
So is this officially the last season or what?

I love the show, but I really, really hope this is the last season so that we can end on a good note. (Not that the next season is guaranteed to be good, but you know what I mean.)

I know they're signed on for season 4, but now that Earth is in sight, I'm hoping for a nice closing with the 4th season.

I would rather a show end and go out damn good than to ramble on way past its shark-jumping moment and die a slow and undignified death. (RIP West Wing!)

Okay, I finally finished watching every episode, from the opening miniseries to the last episode of Season 3. I have now seen every BG episode.

1. If Starbuck's Viper blew up, where did she get that new Viper? Unless...she didn't blow up at all? Teleportation? Cylon abduction scandal, made to look like an explosion? Apollo said there were pieces of her ship everywhere.

2. The Final Five--Do we REALLY know? It would make sense: the people directly under the two most important people in the Fleet, waiting for the switch to flip...but what better way for the Cylons to manipulate the humans than to convince some of them that they are Cylons and watch the mayhem ensue. I had a previous theory about the Final Five, and others who were on New Caprica--replicants! But I'm always wrong, so who knows.

3. I wish Gaias Baltar would DIE ALREADY. He is possibly the most wormy, well-played, squirrelly bastard I've ever seen on TV. I hates him!

4. Helo is still the hottest guy ever. I would love for him to drop out of that XO uniform and show me what he's working with.:groucho:
