To anyone who has heard both, the pairing of these two musical entities in the same posting is sort of schizoid, but their albums are what's in my player right now. While M.I.A. rocks the Sri Lankan refugee south london hip hop scene with some serious grl power, I find myself drawn more to the haunting sounds of Devendra's "Cripple Crow".

By the way, if MIA comes to town, they can definitely rock it, but it might be best to wait until they come out with a second album. I went to see them last night and they did about a 40 min. set, and that covered about all the tracks on their debut album.

I don't know who Diplo is, but he did a mash-up sort of thing that mixed Arular with popular hip-hop.

It's called "Piracy Funds Terrorism."

You used to be able to download it or order it from Insound, which sells albums that are tied up in legal problems or label-less, but I just checked the link and it doesn't seem to be working anymore.

You may just have to find it on a file-sharing network or something.
