Northern

You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buffalo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for.

Northern accent and it says "best one so far". Does that mean most of the people that take the test have Northern accents or Northern accents are the best!

I'm often complimented(made fun of) for my strong Chicago accent and identified as South Siiide by the way I talk.

On a related topic, an interesting dialect survery:http://cfprod01.imt.uwm.edu/Dept/FLL/linguistics/dialect/maps.html

What do you call a drive through liquor store?
Damn I wish I had one of those in my state!

I've still got a midland accent, but I'm working on converting to a southern accent. Appearently I need a little more hitch in my giddup yawl. A few more swigs of moonshine can't hurt in this conversion.

Chalk up another Midland accent. Guess I should send in resume to the major news stations and become the next Walter Cronkite

I have a midland accent, supposedly. It's really weird because wherever I go, people always tell me that I have an accent (in New York, they think I'm southern. In Maryland, they think I'm a New Yorker. In CA, they think I'm from Boston - but I'm not sure if that's my accent or because they didn't know that Baltimore and Boston are different).

Anyway, fun times!

I took it again, just to see if it would change if I spent more time thinking about the questions, and it did. I speak like a northeasterner, which makes more sense because that's where I've lived my whole life.

Midland here also. That's what happens if you grow up in St. Louis, the point of origin of the Midland accent (technically it's Webster Groves, a first-line suburb on the southwestern outer rim of the city).

I spent my learning-to-speak years in Maplewood, which is right next to Webster Groves.

Later I moved to Ballwin--urban sprawl hell.
