"One plan would bring a new Frontier League team -- and a $26 million sports complex -- to the McHenry County College campus in Crystal Lake. The college would build the complex and pay for it in part through a 20-year lease with the baseball team, according to developer Mark Houser, one of the partners in the effort.

Houser said he and other investors are businessmen who hope to earn a profit in a venture that they say could also be a point of civic pride.

An agreement with the college has been signed, and now Crystal Lake officials are weighing its merits. Organizers hope to be playing ball by 2009."

I would love this.

Madison has a North Woods League team. Minor League baseball is a cheap, fun way to get out and spend an evening. I would cruise to CL to watch a game with Hotfoot, FA, MRJChimpo, and the rest of you mugs. I do think the four team league in Harvard would be a bad idea.

this shit would be pretty straight. i wish we could get an affiliated team closer than kane county or beloit, cuz i follow prospects and it'd be cool to see em when they're still just farmhands, but this shit would be fun as hell too.
