A great October werewolf movie...Ginger Snaps. There's a trilogy, actually. Ginger Snaps 1 is probably the best, but you simply have to see the other two once you see the first.

I remember seeing Ginger Snaps when it first came out, my roomate which was a total idiot rented it so I was skeptical. But he convinced me to watch it, just the first 5 mins had me speechless really kewl way to start off a movie. and the special effects though low budget arent so bad. Definitely a must see atleast once. Havent seen the others though. Heard there was a part 2 but a trilogy, hmm Iam gonna have to look more into this. Is it the same girls?

yeah, same actors and everything. the second one may be even better than the first. it's a proper sequel to the first film. the third is really strange. it's not at all a continuation... more like, what if the first movie had occurred in medieval times? they were just milking the series at that point.

matty keeps telling me these movies are AWESOME, but I still haven't seen them yet. I wanna watch all 3 in one night.

First movie--great.
Second movie--excellent.
Third movie--for fans only, who thirst for more.

...although the menstruation talk was kinda nasty. funny how i can watch a dismemberment or a spike driven through somebody's skull without batting an eye, but when that bleeding started...BLECH!

Please point me to "good horror" out of Japan or Canada (or anywhere for that matter).

I haven't seen a good flick in ages.

I really don't know why Slame gets so creeped out by Japanese horror movies. I've watched a couple, and I just don't think they're scary.

'ringu' scared the bejesus out of me. i haven't seen all the sequels or remakes, but the original was creepy as shit. no 'gotchas', no bleeding walls, just this slowly building creepyness. and then, right when you think the movie is over, BAM, freak-your-shit scariness! i had to sleep with the lights on after seeing that shit!

i mean, really, what's the last american movie that was just really, really creepy? exorcist? shining?

you're afraid well-zombies would crawl off a bootlegged videotape through your tv screen?

come on, slam. no self-respecting nerd would admit to that.

I saw Ringu, based on your confession that you were so scared after watching it that you slept with all the lights on like a little girl.

So I watched it, and it was total Japanese Cheese. Same thing with Ju-On.

I can't remember the last scary movie that really scared me...I think Exorcist and The Shining are the only two movies to really scare me since I've been an adult.

saw the last 2 of these. what a fantastic trilogy. they did so much with not a lot of fancy CGI.

okay, here's the psychiatric evaluation question of the day for the ol' Board to Pieces:

Why do I think the below picture is hot?

you're into crackhead gelflings maybe?

speaking of japanese horror films, larryhead and i watched 'audition' cause it's supposed to be really creepy. what a shitty movie. for at least the first 2/3 of the movie we kept wondering whether we'd gotten the correct film or not. lame. yeah, there was some disturbing torture in the film, but nothing really scary.
