What's your favorite thing from this year's float?

I have several. SOMEONE should post the pics...(soul queen)

In no particular order:

Nick springing out of the top canopy of trees at the beginning of day 2 was pretty bad ass!

Matty's uncanny ability to detect the approach of an oncoming ambulance from 3 miles away in pitch darkness.

Becker's drunken 45 minute story that ended in "However"

Paul's cool one-man tent.

Seeing SoulQueen finally get tipped and then going crazy and tipping everybody like some crazed mad woman (that is one of my favorite parts every year!)

The idiot redneck guys who asked all the girls if they wanted to float.

Seeing good friend and meeting new ones.

007's Float Trip shirts!!!

Least Favorite Moments:

Getting tipped 3 times in 5 minutes for no reason. (last time I bitch about that I promise Matty!)

Latenight drunkards screaming all night.

Curt's Ass.

Long Drive home.

Becker's story about the "boss minivan" that ended up covered in puke

Sherry Butts!

The establishment of "Feel Good Inc." as the Official Theme Song of Float Trip 2005

Waking up to find Scott had dismantled Kurt and Becker's tent while they were sleeping

Falling into the canoe on day 1 and nearly breaking my neck (it hurt like a bitch at the time, but enough time has passed that it's become a fond memory)

Well first I would have to develop the picts.

I had some very satisfying moments myself.

Kicking Kurt and Becker's Tent in.
Seeing all the peeps!
Tipping Kurt and Becker's canoe.
Hearing 007 yell at Kurt and Becker (old man, it wasn't me for once!)
Tipping 007 and Slam or was it Matty???

Memorable moments would be watching Sacha stuggle with his "inflatable raft" watching his beer floating away.

I need to hook up with Pam first thing next year on the float trip. We make great canoe partners.

I liked our theme song. I'm listening to it right now.

yeah...share more cool thoughts so i can live vicariously....and what is this theme song you guys are speaking of?? or does the LVP not gain entitlement to that info? ha....all i gotta say is this....be prepared for jungle juice mania again in a year's time...you guys wimped out without the juice this year...i'm so disappointed no one made a vat of it. i mean...how can you eat your morning's eggs without a glass of juice?

Ways people on the float trip could have died:

Matty could have died when the rope swing at the springs got tangled around my body and I almost hanged myself.

LarryHead was nearly decapitated by a frisbee.

Paul was attacked by bees. (neat.)

Andikay could have broken her neck on the canoe when she drunkenly fell forward on the first day.

Nick, who is crazy, could have died leaping from the heights of the rope swing at the springs.

Bubba could have killed Kurt and Becker during that tipping incident, and he could have killed Jod at any given time.

Slam stepped on a pointy thing at the other rope swing, and could easily have contracted a fatal condition. He could be dying right now.

Slam also could have died when Pam held him underwater for an extended period of time.

Poof could die from the assbeating he will receive for not attending the float trip.

Anybody could have died at any time from alcohol poisoning, exposure, drunken drowning mishap, or other unpredicted drunk-related incidents.

A couple of favorite things:

At one stop, I took down Slam, Pam, 007, Curt (twice--little fella puts up a fight!), and Becker and I have unfinished business. I kicked your asses. There may even be more people, but I must have been really drunk, because I don't remember.

When Carissa thought someone was pissing on her leg, but it turned out to be the watergun. ("What the HELL???")

Pam's ruthless and vengeful jihad against Slam. For some reason.

Seeing the blue heron, and the cute little frog up by that pretty waterfall, the giant snapper, the cormurants (which I have no idea how to spell), and various other pretty things.

The Terminator. That is one hell of a bus driver. They should build the next one with teeth, but overall I give him two thumbs up.

I agree with JVO's mention of Soul Queen going apeshit on somebody's canoe. She tipped it, then she started grabbing all of their shit and tossing everything in a different direction. A paddle here, a lifevest there. It looked like a Godzilla movie.

Becker, Becker, Becker. One of the funniest guys ever. Becker is the new Poof. MVP!!!!

For Poof:

Feel Good Inc. by the Gorillas is the theme song of the year. I finally heard the story from one of the Nicks. Apparently Becker's cd player is broken and the cd's stay stuck in his player. So everytime he went anywhere (to get ice, bathroom, beer), he played that cd. But mostly that Song. Becker cracks me up.

He even ran over their own camping equipment when they first got there.

Also Pam has some sort of juice. I tasted it. It was toxic.

Another favorite almost-forgotten float trip moment (thanks for the memory-jog, SQ):

When Becker had to call his daddy on his cell phone because he couldn't figure out how to set up the tent

More:
When Becker tried to crawl in my tent to "tell me a story" and I told him to stay out because I had no pants on, and he passed out right in front of my tent door for about 10 minutes, and when he woke up he didn't know what was going on

The "Alternate-Universe Us" group of drunkards from the first day:
They were singing Beer Run and screaming about "COLD BUD LIGHT!", had about the same number of people and the same male-to-female ratio. They stopped about as often as we do, too. They had an alternate-world Jayce and John, but ours were missing this year.

Yeah, those "alternate-universe-us" guys were pretty weird, heheh. I'm surprised no one mentioned the bus breaking down and choking us in gasoline fumes... I thought that thing was gonna light up like a Christmas tree at any moment.

I had a great time and thank you guys again for letting me tag along this year... would definately go again. :)

I'm glad you and Paul made it. The float trip is awesome because you really get to know a different side of people that you've known for ages. It's one of those experiences that makes friends closer, and brings friends-of-friends into the circle, IMO. Now you have been initiated into the Mysteries of Spending Three Days in Nature Totally Drunk.

Next year you will be considered an experienced veteran, so you'd better be there. ;)

What about before the float trip even began, and 007 and Soul Queen and AndiKay were over and 007 thought he lost his wallet, and Soul Queen called all kinds of people in a frenzy, and then we discovered that the wallet was here all along and we were total stoners idiots, and then Soul Queen had to call all those people back and leave goofy "It's okay, we found it," messages?

That was funny.

Hey, I just remembered that someone had started to assign nicknames to people, but as far as I know, only AJ and JVO got ones that stuck.

Why "Lunchbox" and "Tackleberry," though?

I can't remember; it's been almost a month now.

Anybody have pictures developed yet?

Soul Queen?

duckplucker,

Your name just made me remember the phrase "sober as a duck" from the puke-covered boss minivan story.

Now I'm laughing at work and people are looking at me funny.

Thanks for the MVP nomination, btw...

All those were great moments, I just wanted to add a couple more that I feel need mention.
-what about the finding of Beckers keys from the float trip '04 and then 007 put them on the tree for him to find and it took him like 5 mins to realize what was going on.
-Also Becker yelling obscenities on the bus to the drivers daughter on the 2nd day and to all of the other nice folks the 1st
-speaking of the Bus what about it breaking down the first day.....It sounded like someone got shot when it went out.
-Sacha trying to swing on the rope swing but was to heavy to hold himself up
-Great drumming by 007 and SQ
-007 float trip shirts kick ass
-Peep show in 077 and SQ tent
-Lackland ass
-Sacha on that fucking raft made me laugh so hard and then he was leaching on to everyone and it made it 10 times harder to row
-The serenity away from party barge with all the turtles and fish

favorite float trip moment:

Well I think one of the funniest moments was when Bub got really pissed because Kurt and Becker tipped you guys right at the end.

It was soo funny. I thought we were going to find Becker and Kurt corpses floating down the river.

I take it Bubba wont be going on another float trip?

I think it took Becker longer than 5 minutes to figure it out.

I forgot all about Becker yelling obscenities on the ride back to camp. I'm sure that guy was glad to be rid of us. Looking back it cracks me up. Karma going to get Becker someday.

Yeah, I wouldn't piss that driver off. He looks like he's killed before.

I still remember 2 years ago when we hadn't been in the camp more than 5 minutes and Becker busted his taillight out on a canoe.... I think he is the only one who could ever pull that off.

slam
08-25-2005, 03:16 PM
yeah, he managed to wreck a canoe a full 12 hours before we even got on the river!

that's a hard record to top.

Becker and Cadillackland also take the award for silliest instant tippage. That first year, when they were testing to see how deep the water was right when we put in on the second day, and they both dipped over the same side and went over. I still giggle thinking about that.

Also, (and this didn't happen during the float trip but is related) when Laura was looking at float trip pics from the last time Poof went, and she said (in cute accent) "He has an ass like a woman's ass!"

And, of course, the French Tickla. We should all get together and kick Jayce in the balls for not bailing on us. Loser!!

i have a woman's ass?? wow...i'm hurt and offended on some deep level right now. lol...nah...maybe not....as long as this piece of ass keeps reeling em in! hahaha
