So today while everyone at the office was a lunch 2 teenagers broke all the doors in our building, boldly walked through the office and jacked laptops on various floors.

Pretty ballsey and they got away.

Living in Miami, my car was broke into once but nothing was stolen except gum.

Living in San Fran it seems that things get jacked all the time.

Dude, that totally sucks!!! It might make your laptop situation appear a bit more plausible to the bosses, though, if it didn't appear that way before. But yeah, that's a stigma of the Bay area: there tends to be more theft in the area than most others. When my sister moved from LA to Spokane a few weeks ago, she decided against visiting her friends in SF because she didn't want to tempt thieves with a car full of all her stuff.

It happens. I read something on Craigs list, how a college kid left his stuff overnight in his car (as he was moving in) and it was all jacked. He was left with nothing.

That was in Berkeley. I know its terrible to say, but I think it stems from Oakland. Destitute crimeridden bastards...

It totally vindicated my laptop theft. One of the girls that was a little snotty about my laptop being stolen (like I was careless or something), had her laptop stolen today.

I know it sounds catty. She's was pretty snobby about the whole deal. I had a million people ask how I lost it.

It was pretty damn irritating to repeat 50 million times, it was stolen.:grumble:
