Okay, that's a lot of smilies, but we deserve it.

AndiKay has informed me that she will not be organizing for us this year. As such, I am implementing Plan Omega. In the past, we have had to have at least one leader in order to coddle people who are normally too drunk and lazy to figure things out on their own. No more! Plan Omega--make your own reservations.

I know this is scary for some of you, and right now some pants need to be changed, but it's really quite easy--just call Erma or whatever her name is at Boiling Springs Resort and make your reservation. Remember that there are only two people per canoe, so if you're going to have three people in a canoe, LIE TO ERMA. You may incur the wrath of Funkweeda, the official Float Trip Goddess, but she's always been good to us in the past.

I have no problem with booking my own. The reason we had one person do it in the first place is that most people were drunken token slackers that could never remember when to submit money. There was always alot of shaking down involved too.

We usually make the reservations at least three months ahead of time, but that's just because we're obsessive. I'm sure you could make the reservations any time between now and the week before and be fine.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to check in. Sorry to be so quiet lately, but the baby, house, and job have been running me ragged. I can't wait to get out on that river though!

This year it's going to be just me. Vanessa and Laz are going to meet me after the trip in St. Louis for some visiting with the extended family. We thought about brining the baby, but he's pretty sensitive still to summer heat, and might have a touch of my allergies to plant pollen and stuff.

I'm going to be flying to the parent's house, then driving down to the campground. I should get there around 4pm that day, maybe a bit earlier. Unfortunately, I won't be bringing much, if any homebrew. I don't think they'll count a keg as carry-on luggage :)

So, that's it. I can't wait for this vacation, and to see you guys!

Your are correct. No beer allowed on the river, no flipping allowed, and no weed allowed; please keep arms and legs inside the canoe at all times. Do not jump off of high objects, rope swings, or rusty/rotten docks. Do not chase crazily after animals. When checking the depth of the water, do not both lean over the same side of the canoe while shoving your oars down as far as they'll go; you'll tip over and look like d-bags. Do not shove people wearing glasses over logs into gushing torrents. No "rambunction."
