with sustained winds in excess of 175 mph (!) wilma is now officially the strongest hurricane to ever hit the atlantic.

if we get another one this season, it will be hurricane alpha, right? since they'll run out of letters? i don't think they'll use x, y, or z.

having spent a lot of time recently with a family who lost everything to katrina, if you have to evac sq and 007, take your 1) photographs and 2) prescription medicine. one can't be replaced, and the other can't be replaced very quickly.

What about all the Xenas, Yolandas and Zelmas out there?

There used to be these old twins at church... Zelma and Alma... and Alma's husband George. They all has these big antique hearing aids and none of them work very well. Zelma's heairing aid would whistle and alma would lean over to her and say, loudly, "You're whistlin' again!" and Zelma would answer back, "What?" the Alma would way, louder, "You're whistlin' again!" then George would say, "What'd he say?" (meaning the preacher) and Zelma would say, "I don't know, I can't hear him over your whistle!" and George would say, "You're whistlin'!" and then Zelma would fiddle with her hearing aid and it would make all kinds of god awful noise and they would be quiet for about 12 minutes or so. ...all through the sermon.

and I ask... where's her huricane?

Waiting patiently.
It's "supposed" to weaken up some before getting here.

LH : I would be more concerned for the fam in Tampa--Depending on what happens.

These things are so unpredicatable, it's impossible to say what is going to happen.
Still many days away...

So, is there anyone left on cuba now? it seems like all the shitty storms that hit us always pass right over them.

maybe that's why we're not so worried about the commies anymore...

It was supposed to hit Sunday, but not they are predicting Monday evening. Another shitty few days drinking in the dark.

I guess the drinking wont be too bad.
