Heheh.. you replied during my edit.
That is late.. Good thing they won or there would be a lot of groggy Chicagoans today. :)
no one else in my office has even showed up yet (punk-ass realtors).
and no, i'd say there's much chance for the astros. i think only one team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win it.

didn't the bloody red sox do that last year?
well, only once in the world series, i think. didn't the red sox do it against the yanks?
WOW, all the sudden Slam is the sports guru! What is happening here!!!!!!
In the World Series, no team has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit.
In MLB playoff history, only one team has come back from 0-3 and that was the Red Sox last year, but that took place in the AL Championship Series not the World Series.
99.99999% chance the series is over. Houston is sending Backe to the hill tonight, and he should be little match for Garcia. Also Petite and the Rocket are hurt and will be far from 100% if it ever gets to them.
That game last night was fantastic. Even I, who really doesn't care who wins, stayed up until the wee hours. Too Bad the ratings suck. Screw off freakin east coasters.
One thing I would like to gripe about. Why did they force the Astros to open the roof in the world series and not in the NLCS or NLDS? Either MLB controls the roof, or they don't, so why now and not then? I am sure the Cardinals and Braves deserve the same consideration as the Chi Sox. I don't think it would have made any difference but, it's just another time that Bud has made an inconsistant ass of himself.
Minute Maid Park is the worst baseball stadium in the Majors. The Short Left field porch, the ridiculus and dangerous hill in center (with a pillar in the middle of it no less), and an impossible to tell if it's a homerun barier in right field. Opening the roof ain't going to change that. Bud should order that the field is communist and order that the World Series be held in the parking lot.

it has to do with the rules set down by the astros at the beginning of the season. if the weather is nice, it's open. from what i remember, they've always done that, MLB never forced them to do anything. ...and fuck the stupid Astros for wanting it closed just because their record is better when it's closed. it's fucking baseball. domes are retarded.

I do not beleive the astros will even win a game in this series. Riots in Chicago tonight. Do some Looting for me Slam!!! TVs, Computers, Booze and Ciggarettes.....stay away from ATMs because they have camaras!

The Astros have the right to do whatever they want during the regular season. Once it reaches the playoffs than MLB takes over the responsibility of setting guidelines for every game regardless of the preferences of the home team. Case in point, the Astros faced the Cubies for a 4 game series at the end of the season. This was critical to the Astros making the playoffs. Games 1 and 2 the roof was open and the Astros lost. Games 3 and 4 (even though the weather had not changed) they closed the roof and won. The weather for last night's game was no different than any of the games against the Braves or Cardinals, yet MLB did not order the opening of the roof until Chicago came to town. Why? If you watched any of the Cards/Astros or Braves/Astros games, when that roof is shut the noise is incredible. Forcing Houston to open the roof takes a way some of the advantage. Now I am not saying this actually had any effect on either series, but it is unfair that the Astros got to decide what they wanted in those two series and not in the World Series. I think after the NLCS, Bud finally realized what an advantage it was for the Astros to have that roof shut. MLB has the same responsibility in ALL playoff series and in order to keep things fair, they should have been consistant throughout the playoffs.
Also the Astros only had the roof open for 17 games the entire year. The reason is because their pitchers prefer it to be closed, so regardless of the weather, they keep it closed whenever possible.
