An Iraqi reporter who threw his shoes at President George W. Bush was being held for questioning by the Iraqi prime minister's guards, an official said Monday, as Arabs across the Middle East hailed the incident as a proper send-off to the unpopular U.S. president.

At this point, I almost feel sorry for Bush. Almost. :pokefun:

apparently, throwing one's shoes at someone or displaying the soles of one's feet to another is a supreme insult in the arab world.

i, too, was impressed by his reflexes. although i'm highly confused as to why he didn't hit the floor after the first shoe. and where the hell was the secret service? shouldn't someone have dove in front of the second shoe?

i am surprised at the slow draw of the secret service. i would have assumed that the guy would have been shot before the other shoe fell, no pun intended. but really, what better way for bush to be sent off?

Watched this on the news. Hilarious footage. It genuinely looked like he was getting ready to burst into laughter.

You know he has to be thinking "just one more month.... one more month.... one more month" until permanent retirement.
