I thought the finale last night was awesome! I swore that I heard that this would be the last season, but I guess that is not official yet. NBC had last night's episode listed as Series Finale which is a bad sign, but I guess it isn't official yet.
From the guide:
Series renewal
Although Chuck was picked up by NBC for a second season with a full-season commitment, it is in danger of being canceled as of April 2009 due to low, but consistent ratings.[43][44] Concerned that the show would not be renewed for a third season, Wendy Farrington was inspired by a product placement in second season episodes to organize a campaign to purchase "Footlong" submarine sandwiches from Subway on the air date of the second season finale.[45][46] This movement gained momentum with the support of Zachary Levi, Ryan McPartlin, and various cast and crew members by utilizing social-networking websites Twitter and Facebook.[47][48][49] It has also prompted press and media coverage from National Public Radio,[50] magazines such as Time, TelevisionWeek and Entertainment Weekly,[51][52][49] and newspapers such as Los Angeles Times and The New York Times,[48][53], as well as several websites such as TVGuide, WIRED, E!Online, TV.com, TheWB.com, and GiveMeMyRemote.com.[54][55][56][57] In support of the show, television critic Alan Sepinwall of The Star-Ledger wrote an open letter to NBC on reasons for renewal, while Maureen Ryan of Chicago Tribune encouraged fan support by listing the various ways in which they could contribute to the campaign to save Chuck.[58][59] It has been falsely reported by some news websites that Chuck has been canceled, which NBC has denied. However, NBC's own website currently lists the 22nd episode of the 2nd season as the "Series Finale" despite its lack of an official canceling announcement.[60]
I hope it doesn't get cancelled, but now would be as good a time as any. Especially since the final moments of the season involved serious shark jumping. I think jumping the shark in the final episode is totally acceptable. What will I do with my life without Sweet Sarah on Monday nights???
