Uh oh.

I'm just hoping for a unbiased, independent, pick, and not someone that panders to a particular group or philosophy, though I've a feeling this is going to be one of the most left-wing liberal crazies we've ever had appointed. Who knows... maybe that will balance out Scalia.

I thought Ginsberg was supposed to go next?

There is no chance it is going to be an unbiased, independent pick. One of the reasons why Obama won is because so many people wanted some liberals on the court. I don't think his selection will be any more wacko than Roberts or Alito though. He has been talking about selecting a politician to fill the role, which used to be somewhat the norm, but we haven't seen a pick like that for a very long time. I would say that Hillary Clinton is the obvious choice, if she didn't already have a job.

The only part that I think is going to be funny is when Pres Obama talks about why Republicans should go with his pick, and the Reps responding by reminding the President that he didn't approve any of Bush's selections.

Personally, I hope the President selects the most liberal person he can find who will still get appointed. There are a number of Conservative stalwarts on the court. That makes me very uncomforatable. We needs some liberals to balance it out.

i want a psycho-liberal on the court. someone whom i look at and think "holy fucking shit you crazy liberal bastard..."

i just hope this is only the first of many obama appointments to the supreme court. as someone who used to teach constitutional law, i'd imagine obama will have some strong opinions on who to place.
