Arrested Development: why does Scott Baio SUCK so much?

Okay, so I love Arrested Develoment but have missed most of the new season. I saw the premiere, in which I discovered that Henry Winkler was leaving, and I saw the two episodes from Monday. My question is: Why did they choose as Henry Winkler's successor someone who sucks SO MUCH? Scott Baio is obviously the worst actor on the entire show and I feel like he is bringing the whole thing down with him. Part of what I loved about the first two seasons was the talented cast and how easy it was for me to suspend my disbelief. When I watch Scott Baio, I can see his little hamster-wheel-powered brain chugging away as he tries so very hard to remember his lines. Has anybody seen any of the intervening episodes, and has he had some funny moments? Because what I saw on Monday pissed me off and disappointed me.

I did not say that the shows weren't awesome.

I'm just saying that Scott Baio is a piss-poor replacement for Henry Winkler, who I thought was very funny as that fuck-up lawyer.

And I also asked if Scott Baio was in any of the other episodes...was he?

i would argue that he is playing exactly his character. a tight-wad, slightly dim attorney. i think it's great.

They did appease my anger a little by showing 2 episodes. A lot of it just came out of nowhere to me since I missed everything they showed since the season premiere. I think the surrogate dad is hilarious. And I laughed so hard when the tiny town was destroyed by Tobias the mole and George Michael in his jetpack.
