View Full Version : The Beatles
My boss gets giddy every time the Beatles come on the radio. She loves Paul & privately curses his new wife.
Also any favorite Beatles songs? I am partial to Revolution (the rockin' version).
i like that version of revolution on the unplugged album. very sloppy and good.
i'm highly partial to "you've got to hide your love away" as best beatles song.

John Lennon is definately my favorite. I really think he helped keep a rebel mentality within the Beatle's music, and became a real voice of 60's counter-culture. The man was out to change shit, and I think his voice is just as relevant today as it was 40 years ago.

anyone hear about Lennon, the musical about John Lennon, recently?
Yoko ruined it just like she ruined the Beatles!
SQ stole my thunder. "I've Just Seen a Face" is my favorite Beatles song although I could go with a couple dozen others. I can't believe I am the only one to say Paul is my favorite Beatle!!!!!

I find it annoying that he now wants to reverse the standard "Lennon/McCartney" by-line so that his name appears first. Dumb.

Personally, I think Lennon is overrated. Sure, he's an icon for pop culture, but he spent most of his life being a total dick to everyone he knew. And his music is really only 50/50 with me. Anyone ever heard "Woman is the N*gger of the World?" Yeah. He's got some stinkers.
My question is, who's voting for RINGO??? Ringo's just there by accident!! And the really sick part is, he'll be the last one to die.

I cast my vote for George because I think "All Things Must Pass" was the best Beatle solo album, though I'll admit I haven't heard every album by all the other Beatles. Also, I think George's guitar-playing skillz and personal influences were the most influential on the band as a whole. He is the silent MVP. I will concede that, during the life of The Beatles, his songwriting was not as good as John or Paul, but I find his solo work to be heavier and more rootsy. Of course, this is all personal opinion, and I would in no way consider myself an expert on Beatle anything.
Also, he was the cutest.
