Viewing groups on Unix

hey, anybody know how to view groups on unix that might not be inside of

/etc/group ??

I'm trying to figure out how to add people to this special application group that we have on one of our unix boxes, but i can't find the damn memberlist.

and when i search for specific groups for a given ID, the damn group DOES show up.

i'm thinking the unix team is just fucking me over, but i thought i'd ask in case anyboyd knows where else grouplists might be saved.

scratch that. i found it. it was in the group file, but it was just one large line.

doing a more on the file found it.
