If any of you read penny arcade regularly....you'll recognize this story.
So, one day a long time ago in July I decided, HEY! It's a good time to pre-order an xbox360. I'm so smart I'll just beat everyone to the punch and won't have to wait outside in line at Circuit Shitty to actually get one. Well I just got a call from EB/Gamestop informing me that in fact I will not be receiving one on launch day. The EB games here is only getting in 22 consoles. Repeat...22 consoles. I being lucky number 25 will have to wait until Dec to obtain mine. This is freaking ridiculous! I pre-ordered mine before they even publicly announced they were doing so. The only thing that makes sense so far is that Microsoft in it's infinite wisdom and domination decided to Over-hype the console. It's easy to send out very few systems on the 22nd so that they can say... "W00t!!111 look, the 360 SOLDOUT on launch day!" Then a week or two later flood the market with a proper number to meet demand. And honestly I'm not that pissed, really the only game that I am truly dying to play is Elderscrolls IV. And that is not due to be released until Jan or Feb. But I can't imagine the disappointment that's going to ensue when deluge of ppl who preordered after me find out. There literally have to be hundreds of ppl who will not get one. The clerk on the phone said mine was guaranteed in 2nd shipment in mid December. But that there would be a massive amount of ppl cancelling orders and small children all over the globe crying on christmas. Ok..I made up that last part.
