Bad news, guys...

Big evil beer/amusement park conglomerate Anheuser-Busch bought Chicago's Goose Island for $38 million. Just announced today. This makes me sick. I feel like I'm Princess Leia and I just watched the death star blow up Alderaan.

Yeah, this seems like bad news, but we'll see...

In selling Goose Island to Anheuser, John Hall, who launched the Chicago-based craft brewer in 1988, gets much needed expansion funding while remaining in control of the company.

Goose Island "Mild Winter (http://www.gooseisland.com/pages/mild_winter/21.php)" was a favorite of mine this winter, hopefully Anheuser doesn't water it down.

I feel like we're entering a Highlander-phase of capitalism: "There can be only one!"

I am equally sick about AT&T buying T-Mobile. And here I was, happy with my T-Mobile service for the last seven years or so. I liked Washington Mutual, too, before they got bought by Chase. It seems that as soon I find a company that I like and provides a good service, they get purchased by an Evil Overlord.
