I've been reading this book on and off for the past few weeks.
It is about different scientific studies that have been conducted through the years to show how the human mind and body are not separate from their environment. It discusses how we are connected in a quantum sense.

I just finished Chapter 7 entitled: Sharing dreams.
I found this chapter fascinating for many reasons. Being a life coach, some of the most powerful pieces I can share with people is that your intention is everything. Your beliefs power the environment around you.

I knew this before I read this chapter, through experience of seeing it on a day to day basis. Its pretty neat actually. Start the day, set your intention on what you would like for day to be like and watch it unfold. See if you can roll with what it brings you without falling into patterned beliefs. Anyway, I digress.

Here are some cool quotes from this chapter.
Letting someone else express a good intention for you was almost as good as using biofeedback on yourself

Greatest effect of all occurred when the people to be influenced really needed it. This particular quote was in regards to a study, where it explored whether the intention of one group could calm another nervous group. It did. Usually the best results were when the individuals really needed it.

Effects work better if you believe they will and less average if you believe they wont So true. Our beliefs create what we will and will not do. The cool thing about beliefs are they are thoughts that we repeat on a daily basis. If you change your thoughts you can change your beliefs.

A quiet mind is more open to the thoughts of others

David Bohm postulated all information was present in some invisible domain or higher reality. Active information can be called up from this invisible domain

The more ordered of Braud's pairs affects some quantum state in the more disordered other and nudges it toward a greater degree of order. Wishes and intentions create our reality

If every outcome, each event, was a relationship & thoughts were a communal process, we may need a strong community of good intentions to function well in the world.

Some interesting things to think about. How conscious are most of us about our intentions? Its been a interesting read. Its neat to hear about different scientific studies that study the nature of how we are connected. And how we are connected.

Just finished this yesterday. Good read. Not super tedious, like so many articles concerning scientific studies are.

The Dominate World view of Science
The human being is a survival machine largely powered by chemicals and genetic coding.
The brain is a discrete organ and the home of consciousness, which is also largely driven by chemistry-the communication of cells and coding of DNA.
Man is essentially isolated from his world, and his mind is isolated from his body.
Tiem and space are finite, universal orders
Nothing travels faster than the speed of light

The paradigm is slowing changing to:
The communication of the world did not occur in the visible realm of Newton but in the subatomic world of Werner Heisenberg.
Cells and DNA communicated through frequencies.
The brain perceived and made its own record of the world in pulsating waves.
A substructure underpins the universe that is essentially a recording medium of everything, providing a means for everything to communicate with everything else.
People are indivisible from their environment. Living consciousness is not an isolated entity. It increases order in the rest of the world. The consciousness of human being has incredible powers, to heal ourselves, to heal the world-in a sense, to make it as we wish it to be.

Neat read. Fits very well into the documentary I AM, and another recent book I read entitled Train Your Mind, Change Your Brain.
