so LH and i were watching this show on tv the other day that went through the all the presidencies since the 30's or so and detailed how that administration had dealt with the issue of UFO's.
pretty interesting in and of itself, but what was more interesting was when we started thinking about who in the government is actually privy to all the countless government secrets. they specifically mentioned in the show that the CIA director knows most of the stuff, and actually only informs the president about certain topics on a 'need to know' basis. who determines what is needed to know? does the director actually know everything? he's just a political apointee as well... would they trust him with all of america's secrets? does that mean george bush sr. knows all? did he tell his secrets to jr.?
should the president know everything? should the director? should everyone, including us?
is there a secret room in the depths of the CIA filled with a bunch of cigar-smoking old white men who know everything, like in the X-Files?
