Personally, I haven't even played a PS2 game in ages (I'm all PC now), but these 2 consoles are looking pretty damn slick. Check gamespot.com for some upcoming game previews.

PS3 will have better software titles
Xbox 360 will be hackable, and with what I can do with my current xbox, I'm wetting myself in anticipation
Nintendo makes FUN games, and fuck all ZELDA!
and of course PC > all, give me keyboard and mouse, with easy internet stuffs and porn while I play...... then we'll talk

Iam looking foward to both, Ive always gravitated towards playstation for filling my hunger for RPG's, and detested XBOX for over looking it and giving us like what 4 good RPG's or so. If I get an XBOX 360 though, its gonna have to be the harddrive version ($400).
Sony has been ontop though and the delay of the PS3 to me is only a sign of them trying to out-do XBOX's brash early release.
They president of the project originally said he wanted the PS3 to take over the entire entertainment system in a house hold Iam excited to see the capabilities of the finish product

I wouldn't call it a brash early release. They are trying for a 4-5 year console cycle. Sony, by sheer command of the market, can do whatever they want to do. I'm sure they're planning to point out and improve on every little mistake Microsoft makes this holiday season. It will be interesting however to see what happens. After 4 years of nothing new, system-wise, coming out. Maybe being first out the door will be a blessing.

Next Fall for the Nintendo Revolution I believe.

I don't understand the success of Xbox among us nerds. Has everyone forgot that it's backed by Microsoft: WalMart of the Digital World? It seems that most the cool games available for it are also available for PS2.
I'm always a nintendo sucker. I've been disappointed with the performance of my gamecube, though. From a multiplayer standpoint, it seems amazing! especially with the connectivity of the advance... however, most my friends aren't nerds up here and Joel and I aren't interested in the same kind of games. I really want the new Zelda game, tho... it looks SOOO cool! I can't wait to take out octerocs from horseback, or some shit like that.
The Revolution looks like such a revolution, tho. I like the simplicity and classic design of the controller. Haven't done much investigation, tho. it is retro-compatable, right? i thought I remembered reading that. I worry that, like cell phones and the game cube, we will have to purchase a bunch of accessories to make it really cool.

The success of the XBOX is due to XBOX Live and modding, pure and simple. Just because Microsoft runs it doesn't make it a demon fetus. They took at least a $100 hit per system when the original Xbox was released to get better hardware in the machine at a lower price. I don't think that they're doing anything any worse than any other company.

I think I've heard the "will take over the entire entertainment system in a household" thing every time a new console comes out. Never has taken over, never will.
