At first, egg nog tastes like rat poison. But then you have another, and another and another, and then you're drunk but you still can't stop drinking the nog. Then you get a sugar rush that sends you into a coma. Twelve hours later you wake up and can't wait to have more nog.

Hey Diamond--give us your excellent nog recipe!

Nog is great, but it has to have some whiskey in it!

More Nog! More Nog!

Whenever I come home for the holidays my mom has a half-gallon of egg nog in the fridge for me... I guess one Christmas when I was younger I drank a ton of it and now she thinks I love it, heheh. I just don't have the heart to tell her I don't really like it much anymore. Maybe adding some whiskey will fix it right up though (never tried that). :)

My dad used to make some KICK-ASS nog with bourbon or something like that in it. But he would make a little bit without liquor so the kids could have some too.

I need to get that recipe.

Egg nog is good with whiskey, or, as I just recently discovered (thanks to matty), Captain Morgan's.

The first time I ever met Diamond Vision we were drinking spiked egg nog. Then he experienced a "cascading systems shutdown." Then matty and I sang En Vogue's "Hold On." Repeatedly. Very VERY loudly.

which party was that, AndyKay?

I've had systems failure from the nog on occasions too numerous to count...

Diamond--

It wasn't really a party, it was just you and me and matty (and maybe Aaron?), as far as I can remember. It was sometime last winter when you came to como for a visit. We went other places first before we came back to my place and started on the nog, but I don't remember where. See? Too much egg nog!

Matty-

I think this is recipe i used to use...

Ingredients:

* 6 Egg
* 2 cups Heavy cream
* 1 cup Milk
* 3/4-1 cup Sugar
* 1 tblsp Nutmeg
* 1/2 cup Rum
* 1/2 cup Brandy
* 1/2 cup Whiskey

Mixing instructions:

Separate the eggs (yolk and white) Set the white aside. Mix yolks well. Gradually adding the milk, and sugar. Get back to the egg white - WHIP IT (whip it good!) until "soft peaks" form. Fold the white into the rest. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold into the rest. Gradually add the alcohol. Either add nutmeg right away, or sprinkle on top later. AGE for at least 2 hours in refridgerator, uncovered.

I think i'll whisk some of this up later!
