So I "acquired" a copy of civ 4, and started playing today around 9:30-10, consciously played until about 3pm...then did the whole "I'm only gonna play one more turn bs for about an hour or so.
This game is going to kill me....

i'm terrified to pick it up for just that reason...
I usually get off work at the restaruant at 11pm and have to get up by 4:30am to be at Starbucks.. if I had Civ4 I could just give up sleeping all together.
i played for about a day.... then i quit, cold turkey. haven't managed to uninstall it yet, though.
why must you bring it up? it' s easier just to pretend that it doesn't exist.

hey slam-
if you really don't want to be tempted, you could fedex the disks to me...
festivus is coming up, afterall...
certainly. it's a, ummm, version of 'questionable legality', but it works fine :> haven't tried it online yet, though, so maybe it won't work in that mode. not sure i'd want to take on an online game of civ 4, though.
pm me your addy.

It's only because my computer is so crappy as to be incapable of running the damned game that I have managed to avoid buying it.
I would like to continue pretending that it doesn't exist.

it's time to get back to the civilized world, though!

If I didn't bring it up, how could I get others to submit to the will of Sid Meier's Civilization vision? :P
/Horribly addicted to the opening theme song too.

Civ3 took away at least a year of my life when I could have been an otherwise productive member of society.
Diamond--
The introduction of the concept of culture, culture borders, and cultural-based victory in Civ3 was an excellent improvement over the former versions, the result being that building lots of pretty things and spreading out all over the map is now a legitimate way to win the game. Now in addition to militarily defending your territory, you can rest assured that even if some bullshit civilization plops a crappy little city on your land, in a few turns your culturally superior cities will swallow them up. New cities for you, no messy war!
I love Civ3. There were so many improvements over 2...I'm going to stop thinking about it now.
